Is it possible to purchase just the inside white plastic housing, but instead of the 3/4” male threads have it be 1/2” threads.

Asked by: John
Hi, John! Thank you for your question. The white, plastic housing inside of the Delta RP5834 Diverter Tub Spout assembly is not a replaceable part on it's own. The whole tub spout assembly would need to be replaced. Best Regards, Rosanna

Where can I find a list of spouts that are compatible with the RP33794 adapter?

This adapter has been soldered onto the wall pipe by the previous owners. Where can I find a list of compatible spouts?

We wish to replace what we think based on the photo is a RP5834 spout. What spout will work in oil rubbed bronze finish? Is Venetian Bronze the same?

Asked by: Bbon
Hi Bbon, Thank you for your question! This tub spout uses the RP12307 adapter. You can replace the spout with any model that uses this adapter. Unfortunately, we do not have any models in the Oil Rubbed Bronze finish that uses the RP12307. However, we do have Venetian Bronze tub spouts that do. They are similar finishes, but not an exact match. Venetian Bronze is a dark brown color with bronze markings throughout the finish. Oil Rubbed Bronze has more contrast. It is a very dark brown color (almost black) with bronze highlights only along the edges. If a tub spout does have the RP12307 adapter, it will state in the product description that it can be sweat onto 1/2" copper pipe or threaded onto 1/2" IPS. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/showering/shower-components?searchFilter=true Best regards, Jon

Which chrome tub spout is for 3/4 pipe thread?

Asked by: Jake
Thank you for your question, Jake! Models U1010-PK and RP3914 will connect to a 3/4" standard pipe nipple however these do include a diverter connection for use with a hand shower hose. The installation instructions are torn and I can't see the diagram for measurments. Is there a specific PDF for the installation of this Spout?

Asked by: KD
Thank you for your question. Directions for installation of Delta Faucet model # RP5834 come on a card in the clamshell. Below find the instructions copied from that card: 1. Connect bottom outlet to spout using NEW piece of 1/2” threaded pipe installed so that end of nipple projects out from wall surface 5/8” to 1-5/8”. 2. Apply plumber tape to pipe threads and hand tighten adapter onto nipple. Finish tightening with adjustable wrench one additional turn. 3. Hand tighten tub spout onto adapter taking care not to damage the o-ring. Important: Tighten spout a minimum of one additional turn or until all slack is taken up behind wall.

Asked by: SteveJonesPlumbing
Hi SteveJonesPlumbing, Thank you for your question. All of our tub spouts including the model RP5834 that use the RP12307 sweat/thread on adapter will ship with the adapter. The tub spout is not available as a separate item. If you would prefer not to sweat the adapter on, a slip on adapter RP33794 is available. Thanks, Dave

Your parts diagram shows the RP5834 as a pull down diverter, put when I pull up part it shows and describes it as a pull up. Has it been changed?

Will it still work if it has changed? My spout is also 7" so is it available in 7" also?
Asked by: Glen
Hi Glen, Thank you for your question. The RP5834 is a pull up diverter tub spout. The spout is 5-1/2" long. The RP64721 would be the most similar 7" diverter tub spout. Thanks, Dave

Finish

I am replacing my old tub spout but switching trims from Chrome to Oil Bronze, do you have this sprout in Oil Bronze finish or another tub spout with diverter in Oiled Bronze/ venetian finish? The spout I am replacing has the O-ring Brass adapter with a nipple near the wall.

Instructions printed on plastic bag are distorted and ripped. How to install with 1/2" copper sweat pipe. What length past finished wall?

The spout came in a plastic bag with a sticker. Removing the sticker, ripped and distorted the instructions printed on the plastic bag. Your help is appreciated on how to install on 1/2" copper sweat pipe. For example how far should the 1/2" copper extend past the finished wall? Thank you
Asked by: Ken
Hi Ken, Thank you for your question. To install the RP5934 diverter tub spout you will need 2" to 4" of copper pipe from the finished wall. When brazing on the adapter, remove external O-ring first and cool brass down prior to re-installing O-ring. If desired, tubing may be cut off just beyond or flush with end of adapter. The threaded end of the adapter should be facing the finished wall at a distance of 1/4" to 1/2". Thanks, Dave

RP5834 water doesn't completely divert when pull up is used for shower

When I pull up the diverter in order to use the shower, water continues to run out of the spout. I noticed that the internals for this new spout are plastic. Is there a version that has metal components and washers and completely diverts the water from the spout to the shower head? Or is there something I can do to fix this on the current spout?
Asked by: skrubs
Hi Skrubs, Thank you for your question. It is normal for a small (pencil thin) stream of water to continue to flow from the tub spout when the shower is in operation. If the amount of water flow is excessive, then this indicates a problem with the diverter located in the tub spout. This cannot be repaired and the spout must be replaced. We do not currently offer a metal tub spout diverter mechanism. Our pull down diverter tub spouts generally shut the water flow off more efficiently. RP17543 is a pull down diverter tub spout that uses the same adapter as your model RP5834. Thanks, Dave
