Dual-function valve cartridge maintains a consistent water temperature from one shower to the next. Monitors water pressure to balance temperature. All Delta® tub and shower faucets are engineered to keep the water temperature within a safe ±3.6° F (±1.7° C)*. Bad Design Delta RP32104 from
Delta RP32104
I am using a licensed plumber and we are on my 4th RP32104 in 8 months. The first one we replaced to replace a gasket and that stopped the leak but after a month or so the handle spins around 360 and won't shut off the watter. I am not at all forceing or turning the handle with force because this cartridge cost $85 and I have purchased 4. I cannot change the housing without breaking tile and cuting the copper pipes but this is a bad design. Obviously Delta has changed the design because the old one lasted 17 years. This tiny square is the only thing that stops the handel from spinning around 360 and it keeps breaking. Can you help? This tiny

I wasted $60 on a generic alternative from Lowe's before ordering this cartridge. Fixed all our problems as soon as we replaced it will the real deal.

single handle for RP32104 cartridge
Just have plumber replaced RP32104 cartridge inside my Delta monitor series single handle, but the handle turn over 360, and couldn't stop at position of hot/cold water. Replaced second RP32104, still have same issue, handle could be turn over and over freely. I think I need to change this handle (should be around 15 years). Which single handle should I purchase to match this RP32104, would you send me a link?

Happy I was able to find these!
My delta faucets failed after 20 years and I was relieved I was able to find the correct replacement cartridges. I now have to have them installed to find out if they solved the problem...

Excellent customer service
I purchased my delta faucets over 20 years ago and when they required repair, I was worried I was not going to be able to find parts. I was able to identify the part number and order through customer service, so I am relieved I don't have to buy new fixtures...I will say that I had a similar issue with another brand, and theirs was warrantied for life, so that replacement has no charge...Wish delta had the same policy-but I am happy to be able to find the correct part.

Delta shower faucet cartridge.
Installed easily after all water supply shut off. Works well. Stopped the dripping. Was a bit difficult to find the right cartridge- faucet installed many years ago and no model number visible, even after disassembly.

Cartridge works great and included parts so I could use the 17 series shower parts on a 15 series control. Instructions were a little confusing and had to use a little trial and error to figure it out.

I bought a Delta Porter In2ition 2 in 1 shower faucet and shower head. I installed a new RP32104 cartridge but clearly the faucet handle doesn't have the temperature limiting feature. Can I order a handle in bronze to match that has the temp control?

We were hoping to replace a 22 year old Moen (Monticello) shower valve and trim with this new Delta valve/cartridge and Bronze trim.
Will it be possible to use the Delta T17278 set that we have purchased in this application without removing the marble wall? Can I extract the Moen cartridge and put the Delta in? Should the rough-in valve be replaced too?

Hi Dan,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, our products will not work with the existing rough-in valve. If you have access from the other side of the wall, replacing the valve with an R10000 rough-in will allow you to install the T17278.

Which cartridge
I have a dual finish shower fixture in a home I recently purchased. The home was build in 1999. It has a separate control for the water and the temperature. I believe it is the Monitor 17 series based on the Delta Faucet website. I need a replacement cartridge and I am getting two different part numbers. One is RP46463 and the other is RP32104. Which one is the correct one for my shower?
Hi Dale, Thank you for your question. If the faucet was installed in 1999 the RP32104 cartridge will be the correct cartridge. The easiest way to tell the difference between the 2 cartridges is the color of the top of the cartridge. The top of the RP32104 will be white and the RP46463 will be gray.

Thank you for your question, Philip! TheRP32104 cartridge has a rotational limit stop to allow for hotter or colder water. Information on making this type of adjustment can be found on page 6, Step C of the Maintenance and Installation manual below.

Trying to Update trim
I have the old version faucet of 1700 series with the cartridge assembly # RP32104. I'm wondering if I would be able to use this trim Model #: T17T455-SS. If you could give me some advice. Thank you
Hi Munguirick, Thank you for your question. The model T17T455-SS thermostatic tub and shower trim will not work with your existing 1700 series rough in valve. You can use the T17455-SS pressure balanced trim. The new trim will ship with a new cartridge. This cartridge will not fit your existing rough. You would have to continue to use the existing cartridge or replace it with a new RP32104.

I have a Delta Monitor 1524 PBSHP Shower Faucet that is leaking. Can I replace the cartridge assembly with RP32104? If so, can I use the existing trim and handle or would I have to change trim and handle too?

In the off position, my tub spout has developed a slow drip/leak. Do I need to replace the entire cartridge or will replacing just the springs and seats with RP28603 solve my issue?

Thank you for your question. If your tub and shower faucet is just dripping from the spout, when not in use, then I would suggest replacing the RP28603 (new number) seats/springs and quad seals would need to be used. If the leak persists, then the RP32104 (new number) cartridge assembly will need to be replaced.
