Rated 2 out of 5 by from No pressure control The shower head is nice with good functionality. The handle doesn't control water pressure - I've never in my life used one that didn't, so this was an unpleasant surprise. The water pressure is very low, with no option to control it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Major problems with this showerhead 1) There was a significant leak in the seam between the outer ring and the base. 2) The rotation of the mixer handle was very narrow making it difficult to land on a comfortable temperature - had to make very small moves to change the temperature comfortable. 3) the width of the spray is only about 12"; very narrow spray (don't really. need a shower curtain or glass wall to prevent splash to the bathroom), and the stream is somewhat weak (not much more than the rain showerheads) making it difficult to enjoy a relaxing shower. Kudos to Delta for sending me a replacement showerhead to resolve the leak and a new cartridge to make the temperature change more realistic - but I had to do the replacing. No resolution to the narrow spray, as it is the design.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great design style, poor water flow I love the design and the fact that the kit includes the valve. The only problem is water flow. I found a video on youtube that shows you how to remove the inner component that restricts water flow. While it didn't increase the flow/pressure like the other faucets in my home, remove did improve the trickle effect. The initial flow was so bad that I could not use the dual showerhead function because the water trickled out. Delta should upgrade this.

Our water pressure seems to be less

Hi Valued Customer, Thank you for contacting us back, I have included the flushing instructions below. To flush the open valve without the cartridge, please follow the directions below. 1) Remove the handle by loosening the set screw on the side of the base of the handle. The set screw is either a 1/8" or 3/32" Allen screw. So you will need to use the appropriate size Allen wrench to loosen it. Loosen it just enough to be able to easily pull the handle off. * Note. If there is calcium build-up at the base of the handle, it may be necessary to soak it in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water. Simply saturate the rag with the 50/50 solution, wrap it around the handle base and place a plastic bag over it. I would recommend do this the night before removing the handle. 2) After removing the handle, remove the trim sleeve. 3) Then you will need to remove the bonnet nut. The bonnet nut is the threaded ring at the valve opening. It unscrews counterclockwise. You will need a pipe wrench or a pair of channel locks. 4) After removing the bonnet nut, you will need to pull the cartridge straight out. You may need a small, skinny bladed screwdriver to wedge in between the lip of the cartridge and the valve to help start it out. 5) Once the cartridge is removed, you will have an open valve body. 6) Next, shut the shower door or curtain and turn the water on to the valve. Water should gush out, much like an open fire hydrant. Have someone observe if there is good water pressure coming out of the valve and let it flush for 30 seconds. 7) Re-install the cartridge and re-assemble in reverse of how it was disassembled. The Tub/Shower should then have a good flow. If it does not, the cartridge will need to be replaced. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. We have noticed lately that the water temperature from this changes drastically with very little movement of the valve handle. It was just installed last summer. Can you make a recommendation about adjustments or a replacement cartridge which might help?

I’m looking at this model for our shower to replace the original Delta unit installed ~ 1996. Will this cartridge work in the rough in we would have? If it will not, can I still use the handle and trim kit. The old valve appears to still work well.

Hi Mike, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 142840-BL-I. The included cartridge would not fit a Delta valve from 1996. But, if you have a 1300/1400 series, this trim kit can fit the existing valve and cartridge (RP19804) A 1300/1400 series turns on by turning the handle counterclockwise and uses the same handle to adjust the temperature by continuing to turn counterclockwise. Also, the screw holes on the escutcheon plate need to be on the lower left and top right. If both screw holes are below the handle, the new trim will not fit. I purchased the Arvo 14 Series 142480 (shower Only). I am remodeling my bathroom shower. I did not find a test plug or a Plaster Guard Cover in the original packing from AMAZON. Were these item(s) to be included? Protecting from tile mortar.

Because a cartridge is included, the test plug is not needed. However, you could still install an RP2865 Push-Button Diverter Plug. This will allow you to install a new tub spout and showerhead without changing the main valve trim. How do I switch the shower head from shower head spray to hand-held spray? Is there some kind of switch inside the showerhead that governs how hot the water can get? The water in my shower is not getting hot with this new shower head.
