Beautiful!

Outstanding Delta Quality
This shower bar is solid brass, exceptionally sturdy, and good looking. I'm glad I paid a little more and got the Delta. As far as installation goes it's easy but it MUST be anchored into wall studs. I found my household stud finder couldn't find the stud through the tile surface and had to go purchase one that specifically said it would deep scan through tile. I initially had thought about installing it vertically, centered on the shower wall, but couldn't due to the location of the studs. I installed it at about a 45" angle using adjacent studs and I'm glad I did since it made it easier to reach out and grab.
Shipping was prompt and product was well packaged.

What is the best method to remove the cover plates on the delta 24 inch ada grab bar.
Hi Ron,
Thank you for your question. The cover plates snap into place. You can pry them off by hand or carefully inserting a blade under the cover. Please keep in mind that the portion that meets the wall is not part of the cover and will not pry off.

Matching grab bars
I have this grab bar as well as the matching one with slide bar for a hand held. I would like some in shorter lengths that match. I ordered 2 Silverton bars from Home Depot but they don't match & the parts that screw into the wall are too big compared with this item. Also, the shorter silverton bar has exposed screws while the little bit longer one has covered screws.
I'd REALLY like things to match! Are they available & I just can't find them?
Please answer quickly as I am remodeling the bathroom this week..
Thank you for your question. We do offer an 18" grab bar that has concealed mounting. We recommend Delta Faucet model # 41218-ST or 40118-SS.

Are the end brackets permanently attached to the grab bar? Or are they attached with set screws? I want to temporarily remove the end brackets, so that I can cut the bar itself to the exact length needed to mount onto the odd size stud spacing.

How are rhese mounted through tile on a hollow wall
Does the bar come with mounting hardware foe mounting on a tile wall when you will not hit a stud

when mounted horizontally, how is it anchored to jousts that are generally 16' on center?

Grab Bars may be installed vertically, horizontally or at an angle, so long as at least two of the three mounting screws on each end of the Grab Bar are secured into a wood stud. Locate the wood studs behind the wall before beginning installation. When a home is framed, the wall studs are usually spaced 16 or 24 inches apart. Do you make this same style Grab Bar in an 18" length, 36" length, and 42" length?

Thanks for the answer--but how come Delta makes 18 inch grab bars but not 16 inch ones--there are no house with 18 inch studs

How do you install this bar? The cover plate does not seem to be removeable.
Hi Kate, Thank you for your question. The cover plate on the model 40024-PB grab bar does come off to allow access to the mounting hardware. Here is a link to the installation manual.
