Is tgis metal or plastic

My delta spout is splashing water out rather than pouring. There is a hard gray plastic piece in the end of the water spout. Should my contractor have removed this?

Hi JoseT, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! The RP101849 does not have a removable plastic, possible debris may have gotten stuck. I'm looking to replace my current spout which has a length of 5 inches and uses a slip-on connector. Am I able to use this spout as is or is there anything I would need to make it work?
