RESEÑAS
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I purchased your Delta Tub Spout Model RP17453 because the one that was included with my original tub/shower faucet stopped diverting to the shower. When I installed the new spout, it does divert to the shower, but as much water still comes from the spout as from the shower head. No better than my 21 year old original one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke in under 2 years Water pressure burst through valve and now flows out against the tile. Made of cheap plastic.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sould've have gone with metal faucet Bought this online from trusted Canadian retailer and thought the price was great and come to find out the faucet was plastic with chrome finish. Within 2 weeks of installing, and yes it was installed correctly, the water started to spew between the seams of the faucet. I cannot exchange with retailer as it has been installed. I will only exchange if Delta will exchange with the metal model RP15474. I do NOT want another plastic model. The pull-down diverter is the feature I want, but not if it's gonna break within two weeks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from User likes features except for diverter DELTA 1700 Trim Kit Installation just completed today. On surface all features are quite attractive EXCEPT for the 'tub faucet downward pull shower diverter'. Quite difficult for my wife to manage. We may adapt to it; but on-the-other-hand we may need to convert to the conventional 'pull-up diverter'. Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lasted Too Short Of A Time I am now on my 3rd diverter spout. I too have issues with the cheaply made inside assembly. The plastic is apparently too thin to handle the water pressure and bursts thru the side. The only reason I get another is because I have a white faucet assembly throughout the bathroom and can swap out the guts to maintain the match with everything else. The only reason I am giving it a 2 star rating is because I can switch the white housing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Broke too soon. Finished basement bath less than two years ago spews water everywhere.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Can’t take shower. Less than a year old and water spews everywhere when we try to pull the pull down diverted to take a shower.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasted just under two years This spout lasted just under two years before failing. Once I pull down on the diverter, water spews everywhere with no pressure at all to the shower head. Very difficult to shower to say the lest.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Both broke Got 2 of the spouts for my bathrooms. Both of them broke within a week of each other. The inner plastics piece just crack and broke and spews water everywhere. Makes it difficult to shower when the spout breaks suddenly on you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product. Best I have found on the market No requirement for an access panel behind the shower. Delta can be repaired from the front side , Faucet cartridges or the diverter. Fewer moving parts mean longer lasting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product has failed us twice... Later in 2016 I wanted to take a shower and as I pulled the nozzle down, it started spewing out water.. once we removed it we found a crack inside of the spout and we had just replaced our old one probably in the summer of 2016. We have since replaced it again with the same product and just now (it is now May 6th 2017) it has cracked again. Perhaps it is just bad luck? Or maybe it's just made with extremely cheap materials but then sold for a steep price? I'm not sure but definitely would not recommend and quite disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use I like the overall design and ease of use. The hidden quality of the pull down diverter is especially appealing. Very good and well made product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect (Which is what I expected) I ordered this item as a replacement of my existing tub spout. The order was processed and shipped very expeditiously; I received it within 3 business days. It was exactly what I needed (a direct replacement for what I had) and installed easily. Up to this point all was excellent; however when I tested it, it leaked a small amount of water from the spout when in showerhead flow mode. I expected a 100% flow rate for something that was brand new. Several weeks after installation, the leakage issue remains (the same as initially experienced, not better, no worse). My disappointment prevents me from giving your product a 5-star rating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Diverter Spout Have 63 of these in the building and hard water and rust particles do not seem to affect them. Just make sure your sweat collar depth is correct or it will ruin your day. Usually I set them at 3/8" from the wall using an FRP backing panel. If you intend to set tile in, go with 1/2 to 9/16 from the wall. On the O Ring I put some silicone grease or even a dielectric grease on it to insure no tear or scuffs occur to the O Ring as I thread on the Diverter Spout. As so far, the 63 in my building have not failed on their own, One was damaged in the 5 years they've been installed by human factors. For me, deviating from this product would be dumb...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Water Saver I would definitely recommend this tub spout. I'm not wasting water anymore when I take a shower. It draws all the water up and out of the shower head --no more spraying out of the spout and just running down the drain. I'm loving it! Thank you!!

Preguntas y respuestas

The inside of the tub faucet I am replacing has a piece of plastic that slips onto the pipe. I need to match the current faucet that is 20+ years. How can I see the inside or figure out if this faucet will work?

Asked by: Blonde Hockey Fan
Hi, Blonde Hockey Fan! Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not have a photograph of the inside of the Delta RP17453SS tub spout assembly. However, the tub spout sweats onto a 1/2" C.W.T or threads onto 1/2" IPS nipple. The RP12307 adapter assembly is included for installation. Best Regards, Rosanna

How do you deliming tub spout for pull-down diverter?

How do you deliming tub spout for pull-down diverter? Lime keeps getting built up in spring, is there away to remove and put back spring foe cleaning?
Asked by: epagames
Dear Epagames, Thank you for your question. We do not recommend disassembling the Delta tub spouts. To dissolve any sediment that may collect in the diverter or face, just soak the face of the tub spout in a 50/50 or stronger mixture of white vinegar and tap water for 10 to 15 minutes. Delta Tub Spout Pull Down Diverter, replace it?

The water is not diverting to the shower. I think I have to replace the entire unit. Is there somewhere local to me, within 50 miles of 27248 zip code, where I can find the tub spout? Also does this tub spout come in Brushed Nickel?
Asked by: Hamp
Hi Hamp, Thank you for your question. You should be able to order the RP17453SS from your local Lowes or Home Depot. The RP17453 is not available in the bushed nickel finish. Our (SS) brilliance stainless finish is comparable to other brands brushed nickel. Thanks, Dave

Pull down diverter tub spout Stainless Steel

I am remodeling a bath in my house. I really like the pull down diverter. I am interested in SS finish and a Metal product. How ever while researching the SS only seems to be available in part RP17453 which is non-metallic(plastic), Do you have available a RP17454 is metal in the SS finish? Really not looking for plastic spout. Thanks
Asked by: LCW
Hi LCW, Thank you for your question! We do not manufacture the RP17454 pull down tub spout in the Stainless Steel finish. We do offer pull up diverter models that are metal in the Stainless finish such as the RP48718SS and RP64721SS. Best regards, Brandis

What is the construction of the RP17453SS tub spout?  Is it plastic, plastic with a metal shell, or zinc (ZAMAK) casting?  I presume it mounts using the RP12307 adapter.

Asked by: BenB
Thank you for your question, BenB! This tub spout is non-metallic and does use the RP12307 brass adapter. Best regards, Jon
