How to remove sleeve?

How does one remove the sleeve? The enclosed photo shows that a retaining nut is set below the sleeve and there does not appear to be any obvious place to utilize a wrench. Is a special tool needed?
Asked by: Paul
Thank you for your question, Paul. You can unscrew the base by hand or with a flat rubber jar opener. You can then use an adjustable wrench to remove the sleeve (RP19654). Parts diagram for reference: https://media.deltafaucet.com/PartsDiagram/RP14979.pdf Best regards, Jon

It looks like the transfer valve mechanism on my Roman shower tub is dysfunctional.  It doesn’t transfer water it only leaks as it is turned.  Will this plastic part be the most likely replacement?  Is it difficult to install?

Is this diverter much further down than the cold and hots? Got a 3 handle roman tub and it's leaking out transfer valve when going from hand shower to spout.

Asked by: Blaaaaa

Are there any videos on replacing the diverter valve? Current one broke during a freeze. Looking for proper orientation.

How to replace

Asked by: Barb
Hello Barb, Thank you for your question! We apologize that the information you are searching for was not readily available. We realize that can be very frustrating and I am happy to assist you! We thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. The Delta Faucet part RP19653 Diverter Assembly - Transfer Valve - Roman Tub can be replaced by first using a 3/32" or 1/8" Allen wrench to loosen the handle set screw. Once loosened the handle can be pulled straight up and off. Following that the sleeve will need to be unthreaded from the valve to allow both the stem extended and current diverter to be removed. After they have been removed the replacement can be inserted and the parts can be reinstalled as they were removed. Please contact us back directly via email with any further questions. Best Regards, Skyler

Is there a certain way the diverter goes into the valve sleeve. Example- does the upper holes in diverter need to line up straight across with holes in valve, or hole in lower line up, or no holes lined up?
