RESEÑAS
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Only a few tub spout that is made of metal It's so hard to to find a tub spout that is not made of plastic. This one is an exception- could have been cheaper- this not made of brass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Had to go with original Hard water really did a number on the original spout and couldn't hardly get it to divert to use shower. Tried using a generic spout from a box store but it was just not the same quality as original, hareder to install and actually sounded noisier (slightly annoying). Went with the OEM part now everyhing good to go and like it was when originally installed. As a side note, also installed water softener.

Copper pipe length for RP64721 tub spout

To install a slip on tub spout RP64721 what should the length be of the copper pipe coming out of the wall? Right now it is too long so I need to cut it (5"), but I put the spout on to try it and it seemed like it stopped after about an inch, seems like it should go further into the spout to me.
Asked by: Derek
Hi Derek, Thank you for your question. When installing the RP64721 slip-on tub spout, the tubing should be cut 1 ½ – 2 ¾” from the finished wall with a tubing cutter. Prior to inserting the tube into the adapter, the end should be chamfered free of burrs (on outside of the tube) to prevent cutting or nicking of o-ring. Do not over-tighten set screw. Thanks, Dave

does the rp48718 just push on or push so far and then screws on? thanks.

Asked by: jackleg
Hi, Jackleg! Thank you for your question. The RP48718 slips onto the 1/2" c.w.t. and then tightened by a set screw on the bottom of the tub spout assembly. Best Regards, Rosanna

How long does the 1/2 copper pipe from the wall have to be?

replacement part # for the Tub Spout RP48718

Thank you for your question. When using the Delta Faucet part # RP48718, the copper pipe should be from 5/8 to 1 5/8 inches from the wall. That measurement is from the wall to the end of the pipe threads.

Can you do an iron pipe installation with this spout? If so, how far should the threaded pipe nipple extend from the finished wall?

Also, if you are able to do an iron pipe installation, how do you remove the parts for the copper pipe installation? I have tried to remove the parts but i'm afraid i'm going to break something. Should the copper pipe installation parts just screw back out? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Asked by: BJB
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP48718 can only be used as a slip on to a copper pipe. It can not be used with an iron pipe.

The lenght of the copper pipe from the tile only measure 3/4 of an inch. In one of your answer, you said that 5/8 of an inch was sufficient.

in another answer yo say that the pipe should be cut at 2 3/4 inches from the wall?? Bottom line, I don't want to call plumber to extend my pipe from the wall, would it fit on my short pipe? thanks for your help.
Asked by: marc
Hi Marc, Thank you for your question. The copper tube should be at least 2-3/4" long and no longer than 4-1/4" to work with the model RP48718 spout. Thanks, Dave
