Rated 4 out of 5 by from Only a few tub spout that is made of metal It's so hard to to find a tub spout that is not made of plastic. This one is an exception- could have been cheaper- this not made of brass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Had to go with original Hard water really did a number on the original spout and couldn't hardly get it to divert to use shower. Tried using a generic spout from a box store but it was just not the same quality as original, hareder to install and actually sounded noisier (slightly annoying). Went with the OEM part now everyhing good to go and like it was when originally installed. As a side note, also installed water softener.

If order Delta Tub Spout - Pull-Up Diverter (Model #:RP48718SS) will it work with Model #142910-SS?

I purchased set Model #142910-SS (shower head and valve only) around 2010-2011. We have now decided to do a bath/shower combo rather than a shower only. Therefore, we now require the tub spout. A few questions: 1. If we order Delta Tub Spout - Pull-Up Diverter (Model #:RP48718SS) as found from parent set Model #144910-SS, will it work with the original ordered set Model #142910-SS? 2. Do we need any other parts to make the bath tub fill functionality work? 3. Does Delta Tub Spout - Pull-Up Diverter (Model #:RP48718SS) match the original set Model #142910-SS?
Asked by: Philip Dufrene
Hi Philip Dufrene, Thank you for your question! The RP48718SS tub spout will work with the 142910-SS shower trim. The unit should of included the standard R10000-UN shower valve which has a connection for a tub spout. Best regards, Brandis

Is the threaded connection on this unit the same as Delta RP17454?

Looking to replace my Delta RP17454 tub spout with this unit - RP48718SS. Is the threaded connection the same between these two so the new one would just screw on? Thanks, Shawn
Asked by: Shawn
Hi Shawn, Thank you for your question. Your old spout RP17454 screws onto an adapter RP12307 that is most likely sweated onto the copper pipe coming out of your wall. The RP48718SS is a slide on spout made to attach directly to the copper pipe. The new spout will not work with the old adapter. You will have to remove the adapter to be able to install the new spout. We have several tub spouts that will work with the RP12307 adapter you have in the Brilliance Stainless (SS) finish. They include the RP43131SS, RP42915SS, RP40625SS, and the RP17453SS to give you a few options. Thanks, Dave

Please explain "Sweat onto 1/2" CWT"

Does this mean it requires flux and solder to attach to the pipe? Or is it simply the kind of faucet that can slide onto the 1/2" copper pipe with an o-ring instead of being threaded on.
Asked by: Jay
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP48718SS is a slip-on spout. It will slip onto a 1/2" copper pipe. If the tub spout does say sweat-on, it does mean using solder to attach it to the pipe.

Too big of a hole in the tile for the Tub Spout

Hello, Do you have any kind of trim ring for the tub spout? The person who tiled our shower/tub cut too big of a hole for the spout pipe. When I put the tub spout on, you can see the cut marks. Thanks, Bob
Asked by: Bob
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP48718 is 2.6 inches at the widest part. We do not manufacture a trim ring to go behind it. However, we do manufacture a larger tub spout that is 3.5 inches at the widest part. It is model # RP52148. It will need to be either sweat onto a 1/2" copper pipe or thread onto a 1/2" iron pipe. This may cover the hole in the wall.

Can I take apart the plastic insert inside the RP48718 and and screw it in using the front thread like a a screw on type? (My existing RP48718 was installed this way!)

Asked by: Zimmer
Hi Zimmer, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP48718. This spout is installed by slip-on a 1/2" copper pipe. Tub Spout RP64721 is a slip-on tub spout with a removable adapter that would also allow a 1/2" IPS thread into the nose connection when removed. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/RP64721.html Please contact us directly if you have any additional questions! I want to replace existing basic Moen spout that has too much backpressure so water dribbles from shower head when valve is full on and diverter set to tub. Is this spout likely to solve my problem?

Asked by: Charles
Hello Charles, Thank you for your question. I am sorry that you are experiencing an issue with your tub and shower faucet. We are happy to help. The issue you describe is often called shower rise or stacking. It is possibly caused by a blockage in the tub spout or there can be one of several reasons. In a Delta Faucet tub and shower, shower rise can be caused by: 1) The valve could be upside down. 2) The length from the valve to the tub spout is outside of the 8" to 18" recommended. 3) There is more than one 90-degree angle elbow. 4) Something other than ½" smooth copper or galvanized pipe was used going to the spout. No push fittings. No "shark-bite" fittings. No cast or drop ear elbows. 5) Something restricting the water flow to the spout, e.g. solder or something lodged in the pipe. If this is the cause of shower-rise it is possible to remove the blockage by removing the tub spout; then, feeding a plumber’s snake or a speedometer cable up through the tub drop. The act of feeding it causes it to twirl and loosen the blockage. Be sure to flush the valve before reinstalling the tub spout. Be sure to check the tub spout itself for blockage. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you! Best regards, Bryan

Is this truly STAINLESS STEEL or brushed Nickel in a Stainless finish?

Asked by: Drew707
Hi Drew707, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company about RP48718SS! The finish is described as a neutral, low-gloss finish. Brilliance® finishes, designed to not corrode, tarnish or discolor for a “like-new” look for life, are developed by embedding molecules deep into the faucet’s surface, creating a bond that is virtually indestructible with an incredibly reflective shine. This process is known as Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD). Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Best Regards, Nicole Digital Communications Specialist

How to install - measurements from finished wall. Does the copper stub out slide for word past the inner o-ring?

Asked by: Rich
Hi Rich, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP48718SS. The copper tube should go past the o-ring. The tube should be chamfered and free of burrs to avoid damaging the o-ring. The pipe length from the finish wall should be between 1 3/8" and 2 1/2". Please reach out with any additional questions! Best Regards, Bryan Digital Communications Specialist
