does not tighten
I got this part from a plumbing supply house. It does not tighten. I took it back and they opened another, new one. It did not tighten. They said "I am sorry, call Delta". I called delta and they are sending me another but will not refund my money.

Looks great but falls
When we attached the shower head, the arm kept falling. We have tried to tighten and it will not tighten further. We have tested without the head and it keeps falling that way too. This is our second one from a different vendor to see if the first one was a bad batch. Both fall.

Align?
tightening the arm as needed results in the arm not being aligned vertically. The nut should be independent of the arm. What do you recommend?

All the Delta faucet products in our home work perfectly; the fact that the company guarantees their products for life says it all. The adjustable shower arm is so easy to install and then forget about it. No more leaks, no more waiting until 'time' causes it to lose its position -- tighten the wing nuts and never worry again.
