CARACTERÍSTICAS DEL PRODUCTO
Dual-function valve cartridge maintains a consistent water temperature from one shower to the next. Monitors water pressure to balance temperature. The valve cartridge features an adjustable handle limit stop that, when properly set, helps ensure the handle cannot be turned to a position that is too hot for comfort*. Easily replaced seals make maintenance a snap. This cartridge is included with tub and shower trim packages. *Requiere que la temperatura del agua de entrada se haya establecido correctamente. Puede requerir un ajuste según la estación.
  • Monitor® dual-function pressure balance cartridge
  • Use with MultiChoice® 1300/1400 Series tub & showers produced after March 2006

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Replaced 3x in 7 years! I have had to replace this valve now three times since it was originally installed 7 years ago because it is randomly drips/releases water. My water bill has skyrocketed, which led to me putting a bucket under the faucet in the tub only to see that it was filling up! Also, it is very difficult to get it to allow hot enough water for a bath -- it is fine for showers but for a bath I want hotter water. It is nearly impossible to get the setting to allow hotter water (and, no, it is not a problem with my water heater).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT Universal - beware!!!! This replacement valve is NOT a Universal fit as is stated. I just spent $100 for nothing! I will be contacting the company. If you have a 17 or 1700 series shower and it is leaking, chances are you just need to replace the seat springs and seals. This cartridge does not fit because it has two triangular notches on either side that should fit flat into the shower receptacle stem, but mine has a one sided square notch, which means this one cannot seat properly in the stem. My shower is circa 2004??? Not happy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frustrating; Don’t Purchase Series 17 Products!!! I did a bathroom remodeling and installed the valve body and this valve in the new tiled shower. I have had to replace this valve every 8 - 12 months over the last several years as it develops a constant drip from the shower head. This house has numerous plumbing fixtures but only this one has been a consistent problem. If it wasn’t for all the work to remove and replace the tile, I’d pull out this combination and replace it with another manufacturer as this situation appears to normal for this valve. This week I have another dripping shower after replacing this valve last year. With the consistent failure rate of this particular product, I’m inclined to move away from your products as the quality appears to be in decline. I have another shower in this house that has worked flawlessly for almost 30 years but not this one as it barely lasts one year. I think the longest stretch without a dripping shower head may have been around 14 months which is extremely poor performance for any shower valve. I would not recommend anyone purchase a series 17 product to avoid being in the same situation I find myself in regularly.

We have a delta shower. It's the series 17 cartridge. What is the warranty on the shower? Our shower just started leaking.

Asked by: DeWayne
Hi DeWayne, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Our products have a Limited Lifetime Warranty that covers parts (other than electronic parts and batteries) and finishes of Delta® faucets purchased from authorized Delta sellers to the original consumer purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original consumer purchaser owns the home in which the faucet was first installed. I have included a link below for the warranty information. https://www.deltafaucet.com/service-parts/warranty It is possible that flushing the product could resolve this issue. To do this, turn off the water supplies, remove the cartridge, and turn the supplies back on for one minute. Please make sure that you are getting good flow through both the hot and cold sides while flushing. You can also shake the cartridge back and forth to make sure the back half of the cartridge rattles. This means that the pressure-balancing spool is moving freely, as it should. If you would like installation help, you may contact our residential warranty line directly at 800-345-3358 (prompt 2, then 4). We also have how-to videos on our website and on our YouTube channel. https://www.deltafaucet.com/service-parts/how-to-videos Please reach out with further questions! For replacing a part of Delta 17, instead of ordering  RP46463 can I just get the adapter:   attaches to the valve body with a screw, O-rings on the back, and spring/seats on the front. I have a slow leak and  think the cartridge is fine.

Asked by: Kenno
Hi Kenno, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP46463 17 series cartridge. Yes, a slow leak is likely caused by wear to the rubber seats or seals. We recommend replacing the RP46073 adapter with the rubber parts behind the cartridge. The new adapter doesn't need a screw, but it is interchangeable with the older adapter. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts/product/RP46073.html Please reach out with any additional questions! What is required to remove the existing cartridge after I turn off the water and remove the parts in front of the cartridge? Does it turn clockwise or counter clockwise to unlock before it comes out?

Asked by: Mike
Hello Mike, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! I am sorry this information was not readily available, and I am happy to help you! Our Delta Faucet DELTA® Cartridge Assembly - MultiChoice® Universal - 17 Series MODEL#: RP46463 can be pulled straight out of the valve body. There is not a lock on the cartridge to remove it. You may need to wiggle it out a little due to mineral deposits. If you need to remove any mineral deposits around the part's you may clean them with a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Thank you for being a loyal Delta customer. Please feel free to call, email, or message us on social if there is anything else you need. Best Regards, Themar Customer Service Representative

Hi Matt, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! We would recommend the Cartridge Assembly MODEL#: RP32104. It is possible that flushing the product could resolve this issue. Hi, Can I use this cartridge to replace a leaky RP46074 cartridge. I plan to replace the 134900 tub-shower with a RP46463 compatible tub-shower. So my question is will the old Rough-in support this cartridge? Thanks

Asked by: Hammad
Hello Anonymous! Thank you for your question. If you installed the R10000 Multichoice universal rough that came with your Delta 134900 faucet, it can be upgraded to the 17 series. The RP46463 cartridge will fit the rough but you will need to upgrade to the 17 series valve only trim, not just the cartridge to have the faucet function properly. The 13/14 series handle would not allow you to control the dual function RP46463 cartridge. A trim like our T17094 will work for what you need. With any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly! Best Regards, Carrie
