Didn't know I needed this until plumber said so
I have been finding Matt Black parts for a new bathroom for about a month. (I never really looked at plumbing fixtures before.) I finally got all the parts ordered and received after talking to this website and visiting a showroom. Plumber said I needed a supply elbow before he could start the rough-in and he only had chrome color. Nowhere did I read about this part and I have read tons of reviews and questions and instructions and specs. I actually got the wall mount and escutcheon for the other end (hanger) of the hose as a surprise addition in the wall mount hand-held box. But not the other version that comes with the water connection and holder. PLEASE update the literature to include this mystery part because it would save a lot of time and hard feelings about your products. I saw people in reviews, once I started looking for this part, were angry about not having a square product instead of the traditional version. I have finally learned if it takes more than a day to locate a part CALL THIS WEBSITE and ASK THEM! I also solved the matt black deck plate for the unincluded part for a single hole (center 4) vanity faucet. If we ask, they are great. I am going to order my hopefully last 2 pieces to get this bathroom ready for the plumber.

Why is this not included in kit??!
Should come in the hand held kit. Buying from this site takes a genius because even the reps don’t know that you need this extra. Pretty’s sure this is my last purchase. Took way to long to try to put together a shower faucet kit.

I knicked the paint installing, is there black touch paint I can get?

Thank you for your question regarding the Delta Square Wall Elbow for Hand Shower and I am happy to assist you today.
Unfortunately, we do not manufacture touch-up paint for our accessories, nor do we have any recommendations at this time and I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
It may be best to look into companies that carry repair and coloring kits, similar to Multi-Tech Products to see if they may carry a touch-up paint to match the Matte Black finish.

What does this look like installed? Does the black gasket show or is it recessed ?

What material nipple should be used?
What type of metal should be used for the nipple (brass, black steel, etc.) where's a good place to get it from also?

Thank you for your question. To install the Delta Square Wall Elbow for Hand Shower 50570-SS, you would need 1/2" copper or galvanized pipe. The nipple should extend past the finished wall no more than 3/16" (4.8 mm) and no less than 1/16" (1.6 mm). You would want to check with your local plumbing dealer for these types of pipes.

Is there any reason this cannot be installed without the gasket?
The wall tile it will be installed on is textured and wouldn't provide a water tight seal anyways. So, is there any harm in installing without the gasket and adding a bead of silicone? I need to do this because the required nipple length is in between 1/2" sizes and I need the extra 1/8" of threading to get a good seal.

Thank you for your question. We recommend using the gasket as it helps to protect the wall during installation as well. You may use a bead of silicone to help provide a water tight seal.

Do you have wall elbow square with 3/4 female inlet and 1/2 male outlet ?

Hi Long Ball, Thank you for your question. The 1/2" IPS female inlet is where the wall elbow attaches to the supply line in the wall. The 1/2" IPS male outlet is where the single hose attaches.

1/2" pipe nipple length
Hello,
My 1/2" pipe nipple extends 1/4" from the finished surface.
At this point, I'm not able to replace the pipe nipple. Is there any kind of extension or additional gasket that I can install.

Hi Dan, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately we do not offer an extension or gasket to solve your issue of the pipe nipple extending too far from the wall. You may be able to use caulk to make up the 1/16" difference in depth if you cannot change the nipple.
