Rated 1 out of 5 by from You’re only going to get 4 years performance…👎🏼 When my home was 4 years old I had to replace the solenoid. Well, guess what? My home is now 8 years old and you guessed it! I’m having to replace the solenoid again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought a touch Delta faucet in 2015 at a premium price. I have had three leaks since and got good customer support on two of them. I had a bad solenoid this last time and ordered what the Delta rep said to order. Would not work. Called rep and he said that I had to disconnect the wire that plugs into the solenoid. Works now but with no light. Disappointed that Delta does not produce the correct solenoid for my model since the solenoid is prone to failing. It was a RP74855. Can not see buying any more Delta products if they are not going to support the models that they sell. I found a EP74855 on Ebay. Will this make my faucet work as it is supposed to.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Replacement Part Is Okay - I give it 5 out of 10 Well, the solenoid on the touch faucet needed to be replace and I ordered a new one from Delta $170.00. The part came in about 3 days. The instructions only have pictures, and a written description of the part, no written directions. Fairly easy to install, but when I tried to hook up the LED light the faucet would not turn on. When I disconnected the LED light adapter too the solenoid, the faucet would work with-out a light though. I called Delta the next day and they told me I need another part. The Base for an additional cost of $55.00 to make the faucet work perfectly. Why did't they tell me this when I initially ordered the solenoid? Kind of annoyed!

The solenoid won’t completely turn off. Can I remove the solenoid and flush the inside with Limeaway without harming the solenoid?

Asked by: Mike
Hello Mike, Thank you for reaching out to Delta Faucet Company! Please refer to the instructions below. We will first try a solenoid reset. 1. Unplug the battery box for 30 seconds. 2. Plug the battery pack back in and secure it 2 inches away from anything surrounding it. 3. Open the handle and tap the faucet to the off position. 4. If it is still dripping, please proceed to the flushing process. To flush a solenoid, please gather a bucket, a couple of Q-Tips, and a few towels to continue. 1. Please turn the handle to the off position. 2. Please clear the area under your sink and remove the blue or black clip on the bottom of the solenoid. 3. Once you remove the clip, grab a towel and place it under the connection. Gently pull the hose off. 4. Please place the bucket under the solenoid, turn the handle to the open position, and tap the faucet to turn it on. This will allow water to flow out of the hose into the bucket. Flush this for about a minute. 5. Turn it back off, reconnect the hose with the clip, and remove the clip at the top of the solenoid. 6. Look on the top of the solenoid, inside of the connection, and if you see any debris, please clean it out with a Q-Tip. If your unit is still dripping, you may need a new solenoid as the part inside of it is not opening and closing as it should. We appreciate your inquiry. Please reach out directly if you have further questions! Best Regards, Kyra Digital Engagement Specialist

What are the exact differences between EP92546 and EP74855?

Asked by: DeltaTouchO2
Hi DeltaTouchO2, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet EP74855. Aspects of the faucet will affect the touch signal such as the shape, material, and finish. Different solenoid assemblies have different electronics to interpret the different signals. EP74855 is included with some faucet models with a 90-degree handle and has a clip for a large faucet shank. EP92546 is included with some faucet models with a 45-degree handle and has a clip for a smaller faucet shank. The current solenoid replacement for a specific faucet model will be shown on the Parts & Accessories diagram, under the Documents & Specs tab on the product webpage. Can I disconnect the touch aspect ?

Asked by: Cory
Hello Cory, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! I am sorry this information was not readily available on our Delta Faucet DELTA® Solenoid Assembly - Kitchen MODEL#: EP74855, and I am happy to help you! The easiest way to make our Delta touch models manual is to remove the battery box from the solenoid while the water is running. There are a couple more ways we can advise to make them manual, If the faucet is a later generation, the solenoid assembly may be removed, and the wand hose connected directly to the valve outlet tube. Lastly, If the solenoid Generation 1 or 2, and operational enough, we can directly energize it open. These directions are in the M&Is, using the battery pack to reverse the power to the solenoid momentarily. This is the least preferred method. Thank you for being a loyal Delta customer. Please contact us back for any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole
