Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exact Part I Needed I tried to buy this part locally at a plumbing supply but the part was a knock off and the fastening screw had the wrong size head. I had toreplace a leaking cartridge and seat and spring for the first time in a 35-year-old shower faucet. Had a hard time getting off the handle ended up breaking this extension piece. So glad I was able to find the exact replacement available from Delta after all these years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for! When this piece broke on my current Delta Diverter knob I thought I'd never be able to fix it without total replacement. Called Delta and spoke with a rep for about 15 minutes and she identified the exact part I was looking for. I immediately Googled the part and wound up on faucetdirect and two days later I had the part in hand. Awesome company, great customer service and prices. Will be coming back here for any future needs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from good service service was good and shipment was prompt. Shipping and handling charges were more than double the cost of the part (standard shipping)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great service everything was as it should have been, almost choked on the shipping thou. also dont know why its listed as chrome none on this piece of "plastic" would be nice if delta made a better part to begin with then i would not have needed to replace them in the first place.

Will the Delta H795/H695 Chrome Bathtub/Shower Handle work with Stem Extender RP18627

Replacing stem extender (RP18627) and RP1740 stem assembly on my 2-handle shower/tub faucet. Two questions: 1. Can I use RP24096 instead of RP1740 and if so, is there a reason I wouldn't want to do so? RP24096 is brass and plastic where RP1740 is all plastic. Seems like the brass version would be better quality. 2. Can I use the Delta H795 or H695 Chrome Bathtub/Shower Handle instead of the H46 handle with the RP18627 Extender? Thanks skrubs
Asked by: skrubs
Hi skrubs, Thank you for your question. You can use the RP24096 stem assembly in place of the RP1740 however the additional cost is not necessary. Both stem assemblies have the metal plate at the bottom that ride on top of the seats and springs to control the flow of water. The Cassidy collection cross handles that will fit your 2 handle tub/shower faucet will be the H295 handles. Thanks, Dave

IS THERE AN EXTENDER I CAN USE IN PLACE OF RP24096

Asked by: CSS
Hi CSS, Thank you for your question. The RP24096 is designed to work with the seat and spring to turn the water off. We do not have an longer version of the stem or an extender that will work on or in place of it. Best regards, Jon

What shower faucets will work with this extender

My shower has two faucets, 1 hot and 1 cold. I do not have a big center handle. I do not want to change to the big single handle, but i dont want the " builders chrome style " either. What faucets do you sell that would work on this extender. Thanks, Corey
Asked by: Coreyb1972
Hi Coreyb1972, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately we no longer offer any 2 or 3 handle tub/shower faucets. Thanks, Dave

Is this extender the same as part # SK 2898?

Hi, Much like another user I live in a very old house with old shower parts. The stem extender broke on my shower handle and the model # on it is an SK 2898 after some research I have deduced that it's a delta but it must be very old. Can you look through your archives and tell me if Delta RP18627 would match up with what I have? The shower has the hot an cold knobs and the picture that another user posted looks very much like what I have. Please help I don't want to have to tear down my wall.
Asked by: Christian
Hi Christian, Thank you for your question! The RP18627 extender should fit on any Delta two handle shower. However, this part will come with a retention screw, which is not used with knob handles. If you have knob handles, you can simply reuse the existing screw or purchase the RP26321 extenders, which will include the correct screws. http://www.deltafaucet.com/repairparts/details/rp12631.html?showPhotoGallery=false Thanks, Jon

Smaller size?

I see that this extender is almost 3" long. I need to extend a stem only a fraction of an inch. Can this piece be cut down to the needed size?
Asked by: John
Hi John, Thank you for your question. The RP18627 cannot be cut down to size. The RP75137 extension kit that will add 1/2" to the stem is the smallest extension that we offer.. Thanks, Dave

Does part# RP18627 come in metal something other than plastic. I work at university and we're getting a lot of these broken off in the handle

Asked by: Furman Plumber
Thank you for your inquiry, Furman Plumber! The stem extender of the RP18627 kit is not manufactured in a metal material. We do not manufacture any metal stem extenders for our older two and three handle shower units. Best regards, Tanya

Is the RP12631 extender interchangeable with a RP18627 extender?

Asked by: Jo
Hi Jo, Thank you for your question. The RP12631 and RP18627 stem extenders are interchangeable. The RP18627 includes an allen wrench, the RP12631 does not. Thanks, Dave
