Thank you for your question, dougulus! The 1600 series cartridge, part number RP1991 has a visible set screw located on the brass stem that can be easily adjusted to allow hotter water. Best regards, Edward

Hi Henry, Thank you for your question. The seats and srings will be located behind the RP1991 stem unit in the valve body itself. The spring's wider end goes in the hole first and the opposite tapered end of the spring is then covered by the rubber seat. Thanks, Dave

Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP1991 was used in the 1600 series model faucets. It was used in the pressure balanced and non-pressure balanced faucets. The cartridge itself is not pressure balanced.

Hi Zeb, Thank you for your question. The spring is available as a single piece as RP3427. You get 2 seats and 2 springs in RP4993. Most hardware stores or home centers should stock the RP4993 but would have to order the RP3427. Thanks, Dave
