Need detailed specs
First of all, I called Delta customer service in preparation of my replacement project. I watched the videos and ordered a bunch of parts.
Bonnet nut was never mentioned. I am forced to stop and put back the old system so that I can turn the whole-house water back on.
I am searching online to find the correct part of the bonnet nut. The Documents & Specs section shows only product height, not helpful at all.

Delta RP22734 Unplated Replacement Bonnet
You need this part when replacing the cartridge if it's been in place for a while. Old ones are very difficult to remove and you may need to cut it off like I did.

Buy several at once
You will need them. I am re-stocking because my contractor installed three of this type faucet in my house. This class of Delta faucet suffers from two design defects. First, the cartridge assembly has very weak keying to the body so it gradually rotates out if line in use, and the water volume drops off. You will occasionally need to disassemble the faucet and re-seat it. Since they are all installed in tile walls it was too much trouble to replace these faucets with something else.
Second, the cartridge is retained by this bonnet nut that has a very large thread contact area to the faucet body, and corrosion-welds itself to the faucet body. The only way to remove the bonnet after a while is to destroy it. Best way is use a hacksaw or cutting wheel to cut through one side, then using a hammer and cold chisel work around the bonnet and gradually pry the threads away from the body. I found that by being careful I have been able to remove them and leave the faucet body threads still usable.

Should have known
This bonnet was exactly what I needed, I always go with OEM.
I got a replacement cartridge under warranty, the old bonnet had to be cut off. Quick delivery, 3 days, got me back in the shower.

Will the RP22734 work to cover the Rp19804?
I had to cut the current bonnet to take out the older part. I'm trying to find the correct one to replace it.

The RP19804 valve cartridge goes with our Delta 1300/1400 series. The RP22734 bonnet nut would be correct for your tub/shower faucet.

removal of bonnet nut
can't "Break Loose bonnet....don't want to break pipe ..any suggestions..pipe wrench not getting the job done
In addition to the 50/50 white vinegar mix, (of which I tried with no success), I recommend using CLR. Also, use a Automotive oil filter Strap Wrench as it will provide even pressure on the bonnet nut and not bind as opposed to using large channel lock pliers and elongate the bonnet nut. When reassembling, I am using Copper anti-seize grease from locktite to ease in removal the next time around. The bonnet nut does not need to be tightened to an extreme. Just enough to keep the cartridge in place without moving, hand tight and a little extra. I do believe this is the smarter way to do this rather than the cave-man cut off method which leaves you without a part to reassemble

You just sent us a RP51503 bonnet nut for a warranty issue. I cannot get the old one to break loose.
Any suggestions on how to loosen and remove the old bonnet nut?
Hi Matt, Thank you for your question. Mineral build up can make it difficult to unscrew the bonnet nut. We recommend soaking a towel in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water and wrapping the towel around the bonnet nut. Allow the solution to soak in, the longer the better, to help break up the mineral deposits. This should allow you to more easily remove the RP51503 bonnet nut.

Is this a left or right handed thread? To remove do I turn counter-clockwise or clockwise?
When I tried to loosen this I didn't get it to budge. Concerned that it might be threaded differently than I thought I tried to find out on the web. When facing the wall do I turn it counter-clock wise to remove?
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet part # RP22734 should be removed by turning it counter-clockwise. It is possible that you may have hard water deposits built up underneath the bonnet. To loosen these, we recommned soaking a towel in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and cold water. Wrap the soaked towel around the bonnet nut and let it sit overnight. It should loosen the mineral deposits.
