[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The generic brands at the big box store are inferior to this seal. The Delta replacement parts fits like the original & are very reliable. I only use Delta parts for my rentals.

What is the purpose for O-ring #RP23336? is it just to hold the sleeve in place? I recently changed the cartridge to stop the shower head leak and some how misplaced the o-ring. Will it cause leaks if not installed? Thanks!

O --Ring ( RP23336 )
When removing the TRIM SLEEVE in order to change the Shower Cartridge Does this O- Ring (RP 23336 ) stay in place in the back around the Valve body or does this O -Ring come OUT with the Trim SLeeve itself when pulling out the Trim SLeeve.?
How about when you put the TRIM SLEEVE back----where do you position this O-- Ring ( RP23336 )---right behind the Bonnet Nut?

Thank you for your question. The o-ring should stay on the valve when you remove the sleeve. We recommend to bring the o-ring forward on the valve (behind the bonnet nut) before sliding the sleeve back on. If your valve has a groove, it is not intended for the o-ring.

O Ring --- RP23336
Because of a small but persistent leak from Shower Head, I want to replace the Original Cartridge on my Delta Shower ( Model # 1324 ) with a new RP19804 Cartridge. The Original was from 1999---so its 17 years old now.
Will I Likely need to also Replace this O --Ring ( RP23336 ) at the same time or can I just re-use the old One ? The Trim Sleeve fits over this O- Ring ( RP23336 ) I believe.

Where does this o ring go
Is this the foam piece on the back side of the escutcheon (face Plate) for a Monitor 1700 series?

Thank you for your question. This o-ring goes under the trim sleeve. The foam gasket is not available separately, but will come with the escutcheon plate. You may also seal around the plate using clear silicone.
