Rated 4 out of 5 by from Old roman tub faucet I have an old Roman Tub faucet and my AI on my smart phone say the handles are from Danco, However the Delta T2710 looks exactly like mine, It is dripping bad and looks like delta part RP24096 might repair it. However I am confused with the Danco call out? The lettering on the knobs matches the Danco sight? Does Delta use Danco parts or maybe the knobs were replaced previously.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of help I have an old roman tub faucet that was leaking from the hot water side. I had little or no info as to the faucet model no. or cartridge that I needed to repair the leak. I used the Delta email service and sent in two pictures of the faucet and within a day got a response with my faucet model number (since discontinued) and the type of cartridge I needed. My only issue with Delta is that they limit the problem description to 250 characters! I think 500 characters would allow a better description of the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delta stands behind their product I only buy DELTA products for all my needs and I had a perfect example of their exceptional Customer's service. I had a 15 to 20 years old Delta bathroom faucet that was leaking under the HW handle. I knew that Delta indicates that they have a ''Lifetime Limited Warranty that covers parts being free of defects in material and workmanship for the original owner/purchaser''. I got in touch with them and they sent me the required replacement parts RP24096 - Stem Assembly and RP4993 - Seats and Springs under their promised lifetime warranty. The leak is fixed and we have a ''new'' faucet. Fantastic Customer's experience and Delta exceeded all my expectations. With quality products that deliver the expected performance and exceptional customer's service, I will remain a Delta customer for life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacing a Leaking Tap Cartridge I have a 2004 Delta Two Handle Bathroom Faucet Victorian Collection model #3555. Not be confused with the newer model 35955. The HW tap was leaking from under the bell of the handle when the CW tap was turned on. I suspected I needed to change out the stem cartridge and seal/spring give the age of the faucet. So, I just did both as opposed to testing each separately. Tracking down the parts was somewhat easy once I identified the faucet model, however, I did run into problems which I will get to in a second. YOU NEED TO BE VERY SPECIFIC AS TO THE DELTA MODEL NUMBER AND YEAR. Even though the Victorian model looks exactly the same through the 2000’s, the replacement part numbers can be different. I found this out when I ordered what I thought to believe was the correct seat/spring #RP10700. When in fact, it was the RP4993. For my faucet, 2004 #3555 STEM/CARTRIDGE: RP 24096 (this is mostly consistent across most of the #3555 years) SEAT/SPRING: RP 4993 (this in NOT consistent across many of the #3555 and depends upon year) I ordered from Amazon and Delta parts, not knockoffs. RP 25513. This includes ONE Stem/Cartridge (RP24096) plus the ¼ turn stop (RP24097). RP 8230. This includes ONE Stem/Cartridge (RP24096) plus the seat/spring (RP10700) So, looking at all the costs, I ordered Qty 2 of the RP25513 plus Qty 1 of the RP10700 (2 seats & springs). PROBLEM: When I changed everything out, the leaking stopped BUT the faucet started dripping when I turned on the HW supply valve. After “googling” the problem, the issue was likely the Seat/Spring. I had ordered the incorrect part RP10700 when in fact the RP4993 was needed. Interesting enough, when I removed the original, the seat spring I pulled out looked to be the RP10700. When I checked the CW tap (which had no leaks), the seat/spring appeared to be the RP4993, so I took a chance and ordered it. Voila, it was the right part and both the leaking and dripping has stopped and I’m done!!

How do I move the right hand stem stop 180° so it will line up?

I am replacing the round clear handles on my Delta faucet with lever handles but the right hand stem stop is in wrong position to match with adapter. Left hand/hot lined up perfectly and works great but right/cold handle stem stop is at 10 oclock position so adapter for lever handle will not line up in correct positon to cut water off. Do I loosen stem nut and rotate stem assembly to line up? Thanks
Asked by: Steve
Hi Steve, Thank you for your question. When switching from knobs to levers you will have to change the position of the cold water stem. You will have to remove the bonnet nut to turn the stem assembly. Rotate the stem assembly 180 degrees so that it matches the hot water side. This should get your handles working correctly. Thanks, Dave

It only leaks from the hot water side Even when I turn on the cold water only... Do I just replace the cartridge or am I totally off on how to repair this problem? Thanks for any info!
Asked by: suzy
Hi Suzy, Thank you for your question. Replacing the RP24096 stem assembly and the RP4993 seat and spring that is located directed underneath the RP24096 in the valve body should resolve the leak issue. Thanks, Dave

is the brass stem part of the pr24096 stem assy?

the drawing in the manual shows this as a one piece item, stem and outside barrel unless I am mistaken. I have a two piece stem and barrel assy. I cannot see how the rp4993 repair kit will fit into this set up to stop a leak. open to any suggestions
Asked by: larry
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model RP24096 and RP4993 are integral parts of a faucet. The RP4993 is placed underneath the RP24096 into the valve body. Then the stem assembly (RP24096) turns back and forth against the seats and springs (RP4993) stopping or starting the flow of water.

Delta pn1740 stem assembly won't turn cold water faucet off

Installed new rubber gasket in kitchen 2 handle sink. Removed and replaced stem assemble exactly as it came from faucet. When I turned the cold water supply back on, water ran freely from faucet, it won't turn off no matter how it is rotated or how the stem is situated. Have to keep turning off the cold water from under the sink.
Asked by: Judy
Hi Judy, We are sorry that you are experiencing a problem with your faucet. The RP1740 stem assembly sits directly on top of the seat and spring. The seat may not be positioned properly. I have attached a link for the How to video for the seats and springs. This should help walk you through the process. 1/4 turn or 1/2 turn operation?

Are the handles supposed to be 1/4 or 1/2 turn operation for this part? I bought the R4707 rough-in kit for the Delta Arzo T4786. From some websites it states the handles are 1/4 turn, however, when I placed the handle on this unit to test, I am able to turn 180 degrees.

Asked by: tom B
This is exactly what happened to me. Moving the 1/4 stop doesn’t work. My old cold valve is a mirror image of the hot valve. The flat side of the brass stem must have the fixed plastic part up against it. I sent pictures of old and new.

I have the victorian style 2 handle lavatory faucet about 8 years old.

This assembly only fits properly on the left side. What is the part number for the right side?
Asked by: lmnewcomb
Hi lmnewcomb, Thank you for your question. The hot and cold sides of your faucet use the same cartridge. The 1/4 stop portion of the cartridge is placed to the back on the cold stem and to the front on the hot stem. Please use the attached parts breakdown to verify that your stem assemblies and 1/4 stops are positioned correctly. The cartridge position will be the same on a 4" center set or a widespread 2 handle faucet. 3530-LHP dripping

I have a 3530-LHP that is dripping. I'm not sure if it is the hot or cold side. I was thinking that I will probably need to replace the stem unit assembly and/or the seats & springs on both sides? Would like to know your thoughts on what I should be looking at and also what part numbers I would need to purchase.

with lever handles?

The problem I'm having is that the customer has lever handles and the cold handle points to the middle of the tub faucet, to the left. I need a cold only stem. My Plumbmaster catalog only lists them as a set that will work in the hot OR cold. Is this stem the cold only stem for blade handles. Sorry that I wasn't clear enough with my first query. Ron
Asked by: greenninja
Hi Ron, On a 2 lever handle faucet the raised portion of the stem assembly, or the stop should be facing to the right on both the hot and cold water sides. The same stem assembly is used for both hot and cold. In the above picture the raised portion I am talking about is behind the brass piece that the handle attaches to. Thanks, Dave

Installed R2707, cold water coming through spout even when handle is in closed position. Additionally closed position for hot and cold lever is straight forward instead of away from the spout??

Asked by: Adam
Thank you for your question, Adam! The R2707 Flexible Mount valves rely on the RP4993 seats and springs as well as the RP24096 stem unit assemblies to seal off the water completely. You will need to be sure the seat is installed sitting over the spring. The stem unit assemblies should both be oriented with the raised stop facing the right but with the flat portion of the stem facing away from the spout on both the hot and cold side. Is there a left and a right stem for the Delta two lever bathroom faucet?

Part # RP-24096 was sent to us for both sides and we are having trouble getting the one on the right to work.
Asked by: John
Hi John, Thank you for your question. This stem unit works for both the hot and cold valve. Please verify that the hot and cold supplies are turned off before disassembling the faucet. For both the hot and cold valve, install the stem with the permanent white stop on the right side. The removable 1/4 turn stop should be installed in the back on the cold side and in the front on the hot side. Next, tighten down the bonnet nut and rotate the brass stem so that the flat side is facing away from the spout (off position) and attach the handle. Best regards, Jon

Referencing your answer to my question regarding stem assembly pn1740.

Regarding your previous answer about pn1740, you mention replacing the rubber gasket and spring. My faucet didn't have a spring in it and when I talked to the plumbing expert at Home Depot he said that some Delta faucets had springs and some didn't. He said if I didn't see a spring in my faucet, then it didn't need one. Of all the years I've been in this home, there has never been a problem without a spring before. Are your instructions that I should now use a spring where there has been none before?
Asked by: Judy
Hi Judy, Thank you for your follow up question. Mr. Lucky is correct. The seat and spring should both be used with the RP1740 stem assembly. When installing the seats and springs it is easiest to put them together first and install at the same time using the end of an allen wrench or screwdriver to slide them into the hole in the valve body. The wider end of the spring goes on the bottom, tapered end facing up, this is then covered by the seat. Thanks, Dave

What is the best method to tighten a widespread turn off valve after it has already been installed in a granite top.

Hot water valve is loose and the handle will not stay in the correct position. It constantly goes back further then it should.
Asked by: Jack
Hi Jack, Thank you for your question. The entire end valve assembly is moving. You will need to tighten the nut that is underneath the sink on the threaded shank of the valve. Tightening this nut should hold the faucet to the countertop. Make sure to align the valve correctly before you tighten the nut. Thanks, Dave
