CARACTERÍSTICAS DEL PRODUCTO
The TempAssure® thermostatic cartridge allow precise control of your shower temperature. The cartridge functions like a thermostat to precisely measure and control the water temperature. All Delta® tub and shower faucets are engineered to keep the water temperature within a safe ±3.6° F (±1.7° C)*. Delta thermostatic tub and shower faucets are built with TempAssure® valves. The valve features an adjustable handle limit stop that, when properly set, helps ensure the handle cannot be turned to a position that is too hot for comfort. *Requiere que la temperatura del agua de entrada se haya establecido correctamente. Puede requerir un ajuste según la estación.
  • TempAssure® dual-function thermostatic cartridge.
  • Use with MultiChoice® 17T Series trim produced after March 2016
  • Permite tener controles diferentes para el volumen y la temperatura
  • ASSE certified (ASSE 1016)

RESEÑAS
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rip Off I would give a zero if I could. This part is garbage. For a shower cartridge it is absurdly overpriced. It fails routinely as many other reviews have indicated. I am on my 3rd one in 4 years. After about a year water pressure (especially hot) declines. This last one is starting to go after a few months. The issue is resolved upon replacing this part. Delta has received many complaints about this very issue and has done nothing to correct the issue. Disappointing considering the price. This should be re-engineered and we should be receiving refunds.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Overpriced Junk Same as other reviewers, after several months or a year or so nothing but warm water. I can't stress enough how frustrating this cartridge is. The number of times that I've needed to remove the cartridge is ridiculous, to the point that the set screw in the handle is now stripped out. Like others, this was installed in our "dream" shower and there is no practical way to replace it without big $$$. I am stuck with fighting Delta to replace it or coughing up $450 to replace this piece of trash. I've had $50 shower valves that have lasted 10x longer and worked better than this one. Delta has a faulty product and doesn't seem to care.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Over priced, difficult to service I have had it for 3 years (new bathroom install)- nothing but trouble.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Horrible product - Great customer service Welp, didn't want to write this review but feel like I have to. We installed our dream shower in 2020 and with it a 3 shower system (his with shower head and body sprays, hers with shower head and body sprays and then a system with just a wand and rain head). The system functions great - except for these stupid valves. We are now on our 4th valve for the system. YOU CAN NOT DISSASEMLBE THESE VALVES TO CLEAN THEM. I don't know why Delta/Brizo think that. They are sealed units. And we've soaked them in vinegar and nothing changed. There is a flaw in the design and I would think that Delta would have fixed it by now. Otherwise I'm just going to keep asking for a new cartridge every year. Delta customer service has been great however. They understand there is a problem and are quick to ship a new one. I just wish Delta would fix the problem so I don't have to deal with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No hot water Having same issue as others. Water will no longer get hot. Been installed for less than 6 months. Very disappointed as these shower valves are very expensive.
Date published: 2024-08-23
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute trash This is about 3 years old. Suddenly super low water pressure on the hot water side. I've taken out the outer section and cleaned the debris screens. Flushed out the lines put it all back together and still super low pressure on the hot water side. Seems like the entire cartridge needs to be replaced. Over $400 on Delta and $230 on Amazon. Are you freaking kidding me? What a crappy design. Whoever designed this crap needs to be fired.
Date published: 2024-07-18
Rated 1 out of 5 by from High price, very low quality I bought a whole new assembly including the cartridge because of the highest flow rate available. Only three years after, the cold water inlet has an issue, and given how the cartridge works, we now have a trickle or a scolding hot shower. You’d expect higher quality for the price. Alas, not so much in my case. Time to spend more money to have a functional shower.
Date published: 2024-01-04
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as robust as the original Does fit and work properly now that I figured out that the original plumbing has hot and cold plumbed on wrong side. So I removed the cartridge and installed 180* upside down and it seems to be working now. Maybe a simple troubleshooting faq would be helpful on this replacement cartridge.

Hi, I'm trying to complete an install using R22000WS rough in. I have two shower heads, so I presume a three function diverter cartridge?....which product number(s) would fit? Is the RP47201 the correct cartrdge? Finally, what trim product fits? Thanks

The Delta MultiChoice Universal R22000-WS Integrated Rough Valve and Diverter Body works with any Delta Monitor or TempAssure Integrated Valve and Diverter Trim Kits. Thank you for your question, WILLIAM! Please make sure the marking for the hot side of the cartridge is correctly placed on the side of the hot water inlet, which is typically to the left side of the valve body depending on how this was originally installed. Further information on adjusting the temperature for a thermostatic trim can be found on page 7, step 4 of the Maintenance and Installation manual below. Can I replace a dual-function pressure-balanced cartridge with this one?

I currently have the Multichoice valve and the T17430 trim set, but was wanting to change to thermostatic cartridge. Can I just swap the cartridges, or do I need to get a different trim set?
Asked by: Jennifer
Hi Jennifer, Thank you for your question. You would need to install a T17T series trim kit, which will include the cartridge. However, you can use the existing rough-in valve. Best regards, Jon

Does this cartridge have back flow protection to prevent hot and cold water cross over?

Asked by: BertYo
Hello BertYo, Thank you for your question. The Delta Thermostatic valve cartridge assembly RP47201 has an inner wax that melts from the hot water so if cold water gets there it will cause the cartridge to shut down. There is no back flow protection with this part. Best regards, Tanya

Hi, I'd like an all metal trim kit to match this valve.

I'm using the Delta R10000-UNWSHF valve body, which should work, attached to a HF 2.5 gpm Speakman head I want no plastic showing anywhere. It's hard to tell what your trim kits are made of. Not too concerned about style. Simple round plates are my preference. I already have the valve, so I just need the trim bits
Asked by: JohnG
Hi JohnG, Thank you for your question. Our 17T series TempAssure valve-only trim kits will have all metal parts. Please click the link below to browse our selection. Select "TempAssure" under Technology to narrow down your search. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/showering Best regards, Jon

Replacement instructions

I have just received my replacement cartridge assembly for RT47201 (D-Thermostatic Catridge Assembly) - and I would like to know if there are any how-to instructions available. I plan to replace the entire unit.
Asked by: Mike F
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP47201 can be installed by turning off the water, taking off the handles and the bonnet nut, and then pulling out the old cartridge and installing the new one. Then just put everything back the way it came out. Included are the general instructions for the 17T series. On page 15 is where the thermostatic cartridge gets installed. http://www.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/documentation/t17t278.html?document=mi&documentIndex=0#flashWrapper

Hello I had a t60005-pc trim kit installed and it uses the RP47201 about 2 years ago. Now, when I turn the handle it spins completely around and I can no longer turn off the shower. Do I need to replace the RP47201 or can the old one be fixed.

Asked by: Chris109
Hi Chris109, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company about, RP47201! We recommend troubleshooting and verify if the cartridge is not working properly, or it's a handle issue. Start by removing the handle, if you can rotate the cartridge stem 360 degrees and the water stays on the cartridge needs to be replaced. If the stem stops, then the handle would be causing the issue. Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. What is the hottest temperature you can get out of a RP47201, the water gets hot just not hot enough. And I already went thru all the steps to adjust the temperature

Asked by: Lightning Co
Hi Lightning Co, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP47201. The input temperature and the setting of the rotational limit stop would determine the maximum output temperature. The output temperature can exceed 120 degrees which is the suggested maximum to set the limit stop. The input may be as high as 150 degrees on a thermostatic cartridge. I recommend checking the temperature of the input hot water. Double-check that the cartridge is installed with the hot and cold inputs on the correct sides. Please contact us directly for additional assistance or if you have any additional questions! Best Regards, Bryan Digital Communications Specialist

Is the internal flow for the cartridge at 3/4 inch or cut down to 1/2 inch? e.g, running 1/2in instead of the 3/4 to the cartridge will cut the flow through cartridge.

Asked by: Mark
Hi Mark, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP47201 cartridge. The water supply connections of the valve rough may be 1/2" without causing an issue with the flow rate. I have a shower cartridge that was damaged when I tried to get it out to replace seals. It has a designation of 17t/18t series on the face plate. It controls both flow and temperature. Is this the valve cartridge to replace it?

Asked by: Jerry H

The question is IF a 3/4 inch connection would provide GREATER flow than a 1/2 inch connection OR does the cartridge itself limit the flow.  The goal is the GREATEST flow.
