The TempAssure® thermostatic cartridge allow precise control of your shower temperature. The cartridge functions like a thermostat to precisely measure and control the water temperature. All Delta® tub and shower faucets are engineered to keep the water temperature within a safe ±3.6° F (±1.7° C)*. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Replacing for the third time in 3 years! We started losing water pressure after about 2 years. We finally had the cartridge replaced and now 6 months later we have no hot water pressure again. Delta is reluctantly replacing it again under warranty, but if it happens again then what??? It is a $400 part. We do not have this problem in our other shower that has a different shower parts. With this many people having this same problem it is obviously a defective cartridge. Extremely disappointed.

I purchased and had the Delta Trinsic Tempassure 17T Series Dual Function Thermostatic Shower Only with H2Okinetic Shower Head and Integrated Volume Control installed last month. This included the RP47201 cartridge. Once installed we were only able to get SCALDING HOT WATER OR COLD WATER. THERE WAS NO IN BETWEEN. I contacted Delta and they sent me a replacement cartridge last week which I had installed by my plumber today (at an additional cost of $200.00). Again, we had the same problem: ONLY SCALDING HOT WATER OR COLD WATER. What gives? What our options now?

Water pressure returns to full strength, then 11-12 months later, it is, essentially, a trickle. Not happy with product. All other faucets in house are Delta (no issues). Please advise when component is reengineered.

I had this system professionally installed 4 years ago.I am replacing the cartridge for the fourth time.It lasts a year.Then I lose water pressure.Great that delta provides it...Not so great changing it!.....Would install something else if the wall didnt have to be opened....Very unhappy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Keeps failing I have bought three replacements, excluding the original, over the past 3+ years. Once again the shower is pulsing, meaning the cartridge is malfunctioning. I can't figure out why it only lasts for about one year at a time. I need something that works. Not just something that looks pretty. We paid a lot of money on this product and it does not meet its expectation for performance. We bought this from a speciality supplier, not a box-store, and had it professionally installed as part of our bathroom remodel. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.

The replacement part was provided for free, but the plumber to replace it was not free. I have concerns about quality control for this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You'll never want to go back to the old way [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So this valve has two parts - one valve the sets temperature, another turns the water off on. Set you idea water temp, and that's it. You don't need to touch it anymore! So the morning ritual is turn shower on, wait a minute, and the water temp is *always* perfect. Changes to water pressure, temperature are all controlled in the cartridge. It's freakin perfect. You'll never go back....

Are the 17 and 17T interchangeable? If I have 17 series in now trim and cart change I just switch out the cart to 17T without changing the trim?

Can I put the RP47201 Thermostatic Valve in a Victorian Shower Trim handle, as a replacement for the Dual-Function Monitor® Pressure-Balanced Valve Cartridge? Do I have to replace the trim as well?

How do you get the old cartridge (RP47201) out of the sleeve after the bonnet is removed?

Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP47201 should pull out after the bonnet is removed. It is possible that it is stuck in the valve due to mineral deposits. We recommeend using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water to dissolve the mineral deposits.

DELTA SHOWER # RP47201 its leaking and the parts house where i got it from said to call they said it was under warranty please help

I understand that replacement parts are free of charge. Is this still true?

All parts and finishes of the Delta faucet are warranted to the original consumer purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original consumer purchaser owns their home. Delta recommends using a professional plumber for all installation and repair. Delta will replace, FREE OF CHARGE, during the warranty period, any part or finish that proves defective in material and/or workmanship under normal installation, use and service. Replacement parts may be obtained by calling 1‑800‑345‑DELTA (3358). Thanks, Dave

What is the flow rate of this Cartridge with the Delta R10000-UNBXHF? Also, is there a way to use this cartridge with the T17259-BL?

Hi, Matt! Thank you for your question. The flow rate for the RP47201 valve cartridge assembly with the R10000-UNBXHF is 9.4 gpm at 60 PSI and 10.7 gpm at 80 PSI. The RP47201 valve cartridge assembly will not work with the T17259-BL. The correct valve cartridge assembly for the T17259-BL is RP46463. Best Regards, Rosanna
