Hi, MikeM! Thank you for your question. the RP47423 Screws, Nuts & Washers can be removed by first unscrewing the screws counterclockwise with a Philip's screwdriver. Once that is done, unscrew the nuts counterclockwise off of the valve end. Remove the washer. Best Regards, Rosanna
