RESEÑAS
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hateful piece of hardware I hate this nut with the fire of 1000 suns, So far I've put about 8 hours of labor into its removal and replacement. Have one of these stuck under my sink. Only 8 years old. Set screw head snapped off. Drilled it out. Can't rotate the nut now. None of the usual tools fit around this. Have tried penetrating oil, heat, banging with a hammer. Now some of the threads on the brass threading on the faucet base are beat up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless Why would you make a nut shaped like that? I am trying to replace my faucet and I can't get the old faucet because of the shape of the nut. Nothing works

WHAT DO WE DO WITH THE MOUNTING NUT ASSEMBLY?? THERE ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS ON WHERE IT BELONGS IN INSTALLATION.

Asked by: DEBBIE
Thanks for your question Debbie! The Delta RP49835, installs under the cabinet. The mounting nut is what holds the faucet firmly to your sink, so that it doesn't move. Best regards, Christina

How do I remove the mounting nut?

I am attempting to remove my 16928-SSSD-DST. The mounting nut is listed in the installation instructions is RP49835. However, mine has black plastic surrounding the actual nut. How is this part to be removed? The screws have been removed, but I can't get a grip on the black plastic to remove the mounting nut. It looks like the plastic is formed to accept a specialized tool, but I can't find any information on it.
Asked by: KT
Hi KT, Thank you for your question. You will want to loosen, but not remove the screws from the RP49835 and then use the screws to unscrew the mounting nut. We do not offer a tool to remove this assembly. Thanks, Dave

The screws on the existing mounting nut were corroded and snapped when trying to remove so the screw ends are still tight against the washer. Is there a tool that can remove the locking nut without removing the sink?  A basin wrench doesn’t grab.

Thread size

What is the thread size if this nut? I have a very tight situation and the one that comes with it is just both too big and too difficult to grip to get it fully tight. I need to replace with a more standard size bolt, but need to know the size and threading.
Asked by: Cjames
Hi, Cjames! Thank you for your question. The thread size of the nut for the RP49835 is 1.25-20 UN-2B. Best Regards, Rosanna

Washer would not fit

The washer for the mounting nut that came in the box with the faucet, would not fit. It is "too narrow". One side would line up but the other side was short of lining up. Since I couldn't install it, I didn't. There are no leaks!!! Do I need to???
Asked by: Lisa B
Thank you for your question, Lisa. The washer provides a solid surface for the jack screws and protects the underside of your sink or countertop from getting damaged by the screws. Installing the faucet without the washer is not recommended, but will not cause a leak. Best regards, Jon

Is there an alternate nut available for the Trinsic 9159?

The countertop installers drilled the faucet hole to close to the under mount sink, and the Delta Trinsic mounting nut with screws cannot be used. Is there a standard round or hex nut available for this faucet?
Asked by: mlm
Hi mlm, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not have another mounting nut available for this faucet. Depending on the installation, it may help to use an RP37490 as a spacer, which can be cut to fit your installation. The mounting nut and washer would still need to be used. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP37490 Best regards, Jon
