The spray holes on my RP51478 sprayer are starting to clog up. How do I clean them out. I can't see how to disassemble the spray head and your site recommends not doing so. I can't afford $133 for the head. What do you recommend for cleaning the unit?

Asked by: Gordy
Thank you for your question, Gordy! Most Delta wands feature soft, rubber Touch-Clean spray holes allow you to easily wipe away calcium and lime build-up with the touch of a finger. For more stubborn mineral buildup, we recommend pouring a 50/50 solution of white vinegar through the wand. Best regards, Edward

What aerator should I use as a replacement in the RP51478SS to maintain a flow rate of 2.2 GPM?

Asked by: A.J.
Hi A.J., Thank you for your question. The RP50815 aerator used with the RP51478SS wand assembly is a full flow aerator(no restrictions). The 1.8 gpm max flow rate is built into the wand assembly. There is not a way to increase the water flow by changing to a 2.2 gpm aerator. Thanks, Dave

I also have two of these faucets and one of the two has a plugged wand which occurred when the water is turned on after seasonal shutoff.

Is there some way to remove the wand and back flow water through it to flush out debris?
Asked by: Tom
Thank you for your question, Tom. The wand assembly can be unscrewed from the hose for cleaning. We recommend to soak it in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water for about 15 minutes, and then flush backwards through the wand. Please be careful that the hose does not retract into the faucet when the wand is removed. Best regards, Jon

RP51478 Delta Wand Assembly

Everytime my condo shuts the water, On start up I get small hard granules that plug inside this unit. I remove the hose and the spray from each end and I can clear the larger granules and confirm that the pressure is fine in the hose, but am unable to get to the inside the wand assembly where some seem to get to. Are there instructions to dissemble? I can't be buying a new unit each and every time.

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not recommend taking apart Delta Faucet model # RP51478. We recommend that if you know your water has been turned off, flushing the lines with the wand off to avoid getting the debris inside the wand. If the debris is made up of hard water or calcium deposits, you may be able to dissolve them with a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and cold water and soaking the head overnight.

I'm not sure of my model#,but what is the defference between part RP60735SS & RP51478SS the part I'm looking for looks like both of them.

These wand ends look Identical except for the cost. Not much in the description.
Asked by: Blue
Hi Blue, Thank you for your question. The wand appearance is the same the flow rate is the major difference. The RP51478SS has a 1.8 gpm flow rate and comes with the faucet. The RP60735SS has a flow rate of 1.5 gpm and is offered as a water saving alternative. Thanks, Dave
