Can I purchase a replacement V-Ring (only) for this item? The V-Ring has deteriorated, but the bonnet itself appears to be in good condition.

Asked by: George
Hi George, Thank you for your question. The v-ring is not available as a separate item. The entire RP51503 bonnet nut would have to be ordered. Thanks, Dave

My faucet is getting harder and harder to turn off. I have to keep moving the handle around to finally get it to stop dripping. Is this a problem with the bonnet and v-ring or something else ?

How do you remove this part from the faucet?

Asked by: eddy
Hi Eddy, Thank you for your question. The RP51503 bonnet just screws in over top of the DST valve assembly. Unscrew the bonnet counterclockwise to remove the part. Thanks, Dave

How do I remove the old one to install the new one. Base is not secured and if I try to unscrew, it is too tight. Concern about the three tubes below could get damage.

Asked by: Patel
Hi, Patel! Thank you for your question. We recommend to soak a towel or washcloth in a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water solution. Wrap the soaked towel around the bonnet to loosen any hard water or corrosion that maybe keeping the bonnet tightened. Once loose, use a strap wrench or adjustable wrench to unscrew the bonnet nut counterclockwise to remove. Best Regards, Rosanna

For this Bonnet nut, what size of wrench is needed to remove it?

Asked by: garchiba
Hi garchiba, Thank you for your question. The hex portion of the bonnet nut measures 1.313". An adjustable wrench or channel locks that open this wide will remove the bonnet nut. Thanks, Dave

I assme this bonnet unit is all one piece and comes off by using a crescent wrench to remove it to replace the value assembly. Is that correct?

Asked by: Randy
Thank you for your question, Randy! The RP51503 bonnet nut can be tightened or removed with any adjustable wrench, however it should only be hand tightened and then a half to a full turn past to ensure that it can be easily removed for repairs later. Please contact us directly if you have questions or need further assistance. Best regards, Edward
