How do I remove this flow restricter?

Asked by: Fred
Hello Fred, Thank you for your question! Please make sure that the hot and cold water supplies are turned off under the sink. Remove the handle, then remove the cap, unscrew the bonnet nut, and pull the cartridge out. You can use a pair of need nose pliers to remove the restrictor RP51737-1.2. This part is used on multiple models, however, you can find the instructions for your faucet on our website under the Product Support tab on the product page. 598LF: http://www.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/documentation/598lf-mpu.html?document=mi&fromDetailArea=bath&documentIndex=0#flashWrapper Best regards, Tanya

does this restrict both hot and cold water flow equally or can one side be more restricted than the other. my problem is low hot water flow only

Asked by: patrick
Hello Patrick, Thank you for your question! I am happy to help you! The Delta RP51737-1.2 is for both hot ad cold, If your having low flow I would suggest a flush. Please see instructions below: To flush the unit, we recommend the following: Start with the easy stuff: Remove your aerator, wand or hose to check the flow through the unit without that part installed. If the flow is good, the piece you’ve removed is where the issue is. Soaking the part in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water could help remove any particles or debris blocking the flow. If the water does not have a good flow, the problem could be in the faucet. Next, check the supply lines for debris: Turn the supply off to both the hot and cold-water lines. Once off, turn the handle on the faucet to the on position and leave it there to bleed the lines of any excess water. Next, disconnect the hot water supply line and place it inside of a bucket. Once the line is securely positioned into the bucket, turn on the cold-water supply. Please contact us back for any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole

The brass insert and o-ring remove easily with a needle nose pliers. However I can't remove the orange plastic restrictor. Is there a good way to get it out of the faucet body without breaking the plastic?

Asked by: Nick
Hi Nick, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP51737-1.2. We recommend using needle-nosed pliers. An o-ring pick can also be useful. Please contact us directly if you have any additional questions! Best Regards, Bryan Digital Communications Specialist
