Terrible aerator
So this aerator is designed to remove tiny particles from the water. It clogs constantly! I’ve changed it 4 times already. I’m told I should be draining the water lines periodically to reduce debris. Also told to soak and clean the aerator..doesn’t help. All this work just to maintain an aerator? Ridiculous! I’ve never had to do this with any other aerator on any faucet ever! I don’t have hard water and I’ve even done this absurd regular line draining. Should i have to keep doing this much work on an aerator? By the way it’s clogged again. Maybe i need a bunch to keep on hand so i can change it every 6 months. That sounds normal doesn’t it?

Didn't work.
I tried to remove the aireator using the plastic tool provided. It did not work. Even though I soaked the area in vinegar for 10 hours, the wrench would not loosen the aireator.

Size of aerator o-ring
The o-ring on my Aerator broke when I removed it to clean. What size of o-ring do I need to get to replace it without replacing the entire aerator.

I don't have the model # of my faucet but the wrench for RP 54977 looks like the shape that would fit my faucet head. Is there another method for removing these without a designated wrench?
Thank you for your question, lorene! The RP54977 aerator can only be removed, using the removal wrench. We do not recommend trying to remove it without the wrench.

This is not designed to stop leaking faucet, correct?

Thank you for your question. Sometimes there is debris stuck inside the aerator assembly that can cause a leak at the spout once the faucet is turned off. We recommend to remove the aerator and soak this in a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water mix. If this does not fix the issue, we would be more than happy to help you with this. How do I remove the aerator for cleaning?
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP54977 is a cache aerator that needs a wrench to be removed. If you do not have the original wrench that was in the box, you can order and purchase one from your local retailer or wholesaler. The model number is RP52217.

Does this aerator work with the 255-mpu-dst faucet that has the aerator inside the housing at the end of the spigot which screws onto the spigot?
