Rated 3 out of 5 by from True Delta Part?? I found this same generic part at the local hardware store for less after shipping, but didn't get it because I was looking for a true Delta part that said "Delta" on it (so it would match the other sink). I kept it, put it in a bathroom with a single sink, and moved the matching Delta one to the 2-sink bathroom. It looks fine, just was looking for a real match.

How do you remove the stopper to clean the drain?

I have attempted to rotate the stopper while open and it does not disengage from the lever arm.
Asked by: Dennis
Yes, a stopper does have to be removeable in order to clean the gunk that collects on the underside of the stopper and underneath. Delta Customer Service by phone says that although the tailpipe is connected to the lift rod assembly, this stopper can indeed be twisted off in the sink for cleaning purposes. Either Delta has changed the design since a rep answered this question a while back, or CS is wrong. Need to know before purchasing!

I need to order this stopper as i have double sinks but lost one, my current one says delta in the middle, the one pictured doesn't is that correct?

Asked by: Becca
Hi Becca, Thank you for your question. You are correct that the RP5648 stopper does not have "Delta" on the stopper. Unfortunately none of our current drain assemblies or stoppers have Delta on them. Thanks, Dave

Is the washer/gasket on the Delta Drain Stopper replaceable or must one purchase the entire stopper?

Asked by: Gene
Thank you for your question, Gene! At this time there is not a separate part number for the washer/gasket on Delta Faucet model #RP5648. The entire stopper will need to be ordered. Please feel free to contact our Homeowner/Warranty experts at 800-551-1508.

Stopper installation - loop and orientation

My current stoppers will only raise 1/8", even after disconnecting the linkage and pushing the rod fully down. This is inadequate to drain the sink (a small air bubble is enough to prevent drainage). I am wondering if the builder installed the stopper correctly. Which of the holes in the double loop should the rod go through? Should the stopper be oriented with the loop toward the front or back of the sink? Thank you.
Asked by: Karl
Hi Karl, Thank you for your question. To maximize the motion of the stopper you will want to place the horizontal rod through the lower loop. The loop can be either forward or back. Thanks, Dave

My old stopper looks exactly like the one on the photo. But I'm not sure about the length. Mine is 5 inches. I've seen similar pieces, but 4 inches. Please confirm. Thx.

Asked by: Olga
Thank you for your question, Olga! This is the only stopper that is available separately for our lift-rod operated pop-up assemblies. It will have two loops, with one at 4" and on at 5". Best regards, Jon

How do I remove the stopper (part #RP 5648) to clean the gunk out? It doesn't seem to want to come out easily and I don't want to break it. Is there a trick to it?

Asked by: Steve 5818
Thank you for your question, Steve 5818! Depending on how this was originally installed, you may first need to remove the horizontal rod to take out the stopper. First, loosen the nut on the back of the drain, pull out the horizontal rod then you will be able to easily lift out the stopper. Best regards, Edward
