Poor quality
I have 2 faucets in the master bath that require these valves. I am constantly having to replace these. I have spent more on the valves than the pair of faucets. Never fails every couple of months one starts leaking. I don’t believe I will ever buy a Delta product again nor will I for any of my clients.

Delta RP60400
New valve and washers work great and prevents leakage. No problems from the cold side, just the hot water side. I wonder if the hot temperature wears down the rubber washers more quickly.

Bought product for our 2555-DST faucet
Our custom house was built 13 years ago, and we have Delta faucets in every sink. We are now replacing this part in one leaky sink. Delta faucets have been a fantastic investment in our home!

It fixed the problem
New home 2 years ago with Delta faucets. ALL cold water faucets having been leaking badly to the point the cabinets below were damaged. Well, this part fixed the problem, but it's deeper than that. I have had homes since 1971 and never had such a horrible problem. Tells you something about Delta quality. Oops, did I mention Delta discontinued this particular line of faucets and as yet they have not commented to me about the problem?

It was out of tolerance and would not fit.
I tried to insert into the location where should go and it didn't fit. The replacement valve was over sized and out of tolerance. I could not make it fit no matter what I tried I was afraid that would break the unit if I tried to force it any more. I found a replacement at a hardware store 35 miles away that fit perfectly and at almost half the price that I payed for this unit.

how do i replace the RP 60400 valve

I am sorry to hear about the trouble that you are having with your faucet and I would be happy to help.
While the information can vary slightly depending on the model number of the faucet, I will provide basic instructions.
To begin, turn the water off to your faucet, remove the handle and the bonnet nut underneath. Once these pieces have been removed, you will be able to pull straight up on the stem unit to remove. Follow the directions in reverse to install the new stem unit.

is rp60400 a replacement for rp25513? and do i still need the spring assembly in the base? if i need the spring assembly in the base, what are the product numbers?
Thank you for your question, BillS! The part number RP60400 is a Diamond Seal Technology cartridge that works only with a DST faucet valve. If your model uses the RP25513 stem units, you will also need the RP4993 seats and springs.

ON THE DELTA LINDEN 2594 RB FAUCET, HAS THIS EVER HAD ANY OTHER STEM BESIDES THE RP60400

Thank you for your question. The Delta 2594-RB Faucet did have a different version that takes the RP24096 stem unit assembly with RP4993 seats and springs kit.

how do you get the handle off to install the cartridge? Do you have any specs?

Thank you for your question. To remove the Delta RP60400 Valve Cartridge Assembly, first turn the water off at the shut off valves. Remove the button on the handle to expose the set screw. Unscrew the set screw with a 3/32" Allen Wrench.

I want to confirm I need part RP24096 for leak above sink, hot water, for Victorian wide spread bathroom faucet, with copper tubing under the sink. Originally thought part RP60400 but based on other questions, don't think it's a DST faucet. Thank you.

You are correct in that if your Victorian model has copper lines, you do not have the DST version of this model and would need the RP24096 stem unit assemblies as well as the RP4993 seats and springs.
