I have a delta kitchen faucet with two handles model 2256 SS which is leaking do i need the valve part RP60400 only to change?
do I also need to purchase a gasket and bonnet nuts?
Asked by: Petrop
Hi Petrop, Thank you for your question. To determine the proper repair part you need to determine if you have the 2256-SS-DST or the older non-dst version 2256SS-216SS. Please look at the attached parts breakdowns for both models compared to what your under the sink connections look like.
http://www.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/documentation/2256-ss-dst.html?document=pd&fromDetailArea=kitchen&documentIndex=0#flashWrapper
http://www.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/documentation/2256ss-216ss.html?document=pd&documentIndex=0#flashWrapper
The RP60400 valve assembly would be the correct part to change on the 2256-SS-DST. The non-dst version would need the RP24096 stem assembly and the RP4993 seats and springs to stop a faucet leaking from the spout.
Thanks,

is this the correct part for a victorian delta 2 handle faucet? I can't get in the hole to replace.
Asked by: Tim1965
Thank you for your question, Terry! A DST two handle Victorian model will use the RP60400 valve cartridge assemblies; however, if you have the older, non-DST version, you will need the RP25513 stem unit assemblies and/or the RP4993 seats and springs depending on the nature of the issue. Will this valve replace the valve in my faucet that looks exactly like this faucet, but mine is about 12 years ago. This valve looks a little different on the bottom. Mine has an opening where there is a spring and rubber grommet/washer.
Asked by: Randy
Thank you for your question, Randy! The RP60400 valve assembly is for the DST (Diamond Seal Technology) version of your faucet. If you have seats and springs, this is not the correct part and you will most likely need the RP25513 stem assemblies along with the RP4993 seats and springs. Please refer to your maintenance and installation manual as some models may use different repair kits and feel free to contact us directly if you have any questions or need further assistance.

I have a a 16yr old Masco bathroom faucet which leaks above the sink at both faucets. A112.15 is stamped under the spout. What cartridge do I need?
All locally available cartridges do not match up. I change the spring and washer and it helped but there is an o-ring around the cartridge this has started to deteriorate. Any idea what part number I nee? I had the same problem with the aerator and never could get a part number or the part (one was sent by Delta and it did not work).
Asked by: Dare
Hi Dare, Thank you for your question!
You will need the RP42216 stem unit and RP10700 seats and springs to resolve your issue.

Is the RP60400 Valve for both Hot and Cold Water handles
I purchased 4 valves through your site, the spec sheet did not indicate if you need a separate valve for hot and cold - so I ordered 4 - I have 2 delta faucets kitchen and bath that are leaking and need the same valve. My plumber wanted me to check if there is a difference since the value for the hot handle is normally red. All 4 came in blue. Can you please let me know if there is a difference.
Thanks,
Maryann
Asked by: Maryann
Hi Maryann, Thank you for your question. The RP60400 is the valve assembly that is used on both the hot and cold sides. The top of the valve is adjusted to the hot or cold position. Step 5 on page 9 of the attached manual covers how to change the position of the handle stop.

Model 2256-DST vs. Non-DST
I need to replace the value under the faucet handle due to leaking above the link from under the handle. How do I tell if I have model 2256-DST vs. the older non-DST? The diagrams referenced in the prior similar question don't help me too much...what should I look for? Thanks so much.
Asked by: RAC
Hi RAC, Thank you for your question. The easiest way to identify a DST faucet versus non-DST faucet is to look at the supply lines. The DST faucet lines are a gray pex(plastic) material that are 32" long integrated supply lines that are part of the faucet and connect directly to the shut off valves. Non-DST faucets normally have short copper supply lines with 1/2" male fittings on the end that require the purchase of additional supply lines.
Thanks,

Hammering sound when open cold water
The faucet in our bathroom looks like this model. When opening the cold water we hear a loud hammering noice when open full.
I was wondering if we need to replace the valve? As there seems to be no other element in the handle.
Asked by: Edwin
Hi Edwin, Thank you for your question. It sounds like there may be some debris in the cold water line. We recommend flushing the faucet and cleaning the valve assembly. Here is a link to our how to flush your faucet video.

Hi Greg,
Thank you for reaching out! Please refer to page 6 of the Installation Instructions linked below.
First, make sure your hot and cold supply lines are turned off under the sink. Next, loosen the set screw on the handle and pull the handle off. Unscrew the bonnet nut using an adjustable wrench, and then pull out the valve cartridge. Reinstall in reverse order.

Valve cartridge compatibility
I have a two handle bathroom sink faucet that is leaking at the hot supply handle. From your product ID web site, the faucet appears to be a "Victorian" centerset. Unfortunately you list two different models, 2555-MPU-DST and 2555LF-216. Each model uses a different valve cartridge, RP25513 and RP60400. How do I know what to purchase? Are these parts interchangable?
Asked by: Rocco
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet models 2555-MPU-DST and 2555LF-216 do have cartridges that are not interchangeable. There is a way to tell the difference between the two faucets.
If you look underneath the sink and you see copper supply lines, you have the 2555LF-216. You will need the RP255513 cartridge.
If you look underneath the sink and you see pex supply lines, then you have 2555-MPU-DST. You will need the RP60400 cartridge.

side is dripping and searching the replacement pieces and parts does not at all look like the current valve?
Asked by: Mark
Hi, Mark!
Thank you for your question. You may have a non-DST 3538 lavatory faucet. The seats and springs for this faucet is RP4993. The stem unit assembly is RP24096. The RP25513 will also work. Here is a link to each part:

Delta Staff said: "If you have copper supply lines, you need the RP255513 cartridge. If you see pex supply lines, you need the RP60400 cartridge."
However, my supply lines are a braided metal mesh. So which cartridge applies? Thanks.
Asked by: KevinG
Hi KevinG, Thank you for your question. The RP60400 cartridge is used in the 2555-MPU-DST faucet which comes with the pex supply lines that are molded as part of the faucet, not separate lines that are attached to the faucet.
The 2555LF faucet has 1/2" threaded connections which the installer would have to purchase supply lines to run from the water shut off to the faucet. If you have braided metal supply lines you will need the RP25513 stem assembly and the RP4993 seats and springs as your replacement parts.
Thanks,
Dave

Why hot side leaking when cold side turned on?
I've replaced one sink's cold side with RP25513 stem unit & spring & gasket RP4993. Works great. Cold side no longer leaks. NOW the other sink's hot side is leaking, not when hot is turned on, but when cold is on. (same faucet set both sinks) Why is that? I have extra RP25513 and RP4993. What do you suggest I try first?

Hi Vi,
Thank you for your question! If the water is coming from under the handle, please try replacing both the stem unit, seat, and spring.

I have a bathroom faucet model 2538. I cannot get the RP25513 valve assembly to fit the cold water (right side faucet). What valve assembly should I be using?
Asked by: Jos247
Hello,
I apologize for the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to help you.
If your model 2538 has long dark grey thin supply lines that extend from the faucet itself all the way to the shut-off valves then you have the DST version which uses the RP60400 stem units. If your faucet has copper supply lines it will use the RP25513 stem units.

Bar / Prep Faucet valves
We have a bar / prep faucet that is about 10 years old. Looking at the models online, it closely matches the 2155-RB-DST. The only difference is that our model has separate supply connections and the literature for the model I was looking at online indicates that it has built in supply lines. Do I still use the RP60400 valve or would it be the RP25513 valve?
Asked by: Moondance
Hi Moondance,
Thank you for your question! A unit matching the 2155-RB-DST from before 2012 would be the 2155-RBLHP. Your faucet uses the RP25513 stem unit and RP4993 seat and spring. The RP24096 is the same stem unit as the RP25513, but does not include the quarter-turn stop. The stop can usually be reused.
Thanks,
Jon
