Is the bonnet nut diameter 1.5” and the thread a fine or coarse thread?

Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP6079.
The thread size is a little larger than 1.5". It is 1.5625-20. This is a replacement part for a 1600 series shower.

How do you remove the RP6079 bonnet it has hard water deposits in threads. use a die cutter and cut it off. or penetrating oil. i tried vinegar soaking the threads. ?

Thanks for your question regarding RP6079! We recommend a 50/50 solution of white distilled vinegar and water or penetrating oil; however, if this does not help cutting the bonnet is the next option. We also recommend contacting a professional if you do not feel comfortable cutting the bonnet nut.
