I bought this part because a plumber installed a run of the mill aeriator causing the fixture to drip water under the cabinet doing damage to the base. There is nothing like replacing parts with OEM, all the fixtures in our home are Delta an excellent product!!

At hardware store, i only find the 1.2 gpm aerator with a "lock" (to prevent vandalism?). Why does 1.2 need a lock, when 1.5 does not? Do I need a 1.2 if i am replacing a 1.2 gpm? Can i replace with 1.5 gpm and avoid the lock? Vandalism is no concern.

Hi Mike, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet aerator model RP61340-1.2. We recommend replacing your faucet's aerator with the part number shown on the faucet model's parts diagram. Aerators have different thread sizes to fit different faucet models. Some faucet models include a vandal-resistant aerator for public installations. Installers often prefer a lower flow rate for public faucets so vandal-resistant aerators typically have a lower flow rate. I have 34 year old delta single handle center set bathroom faucets. Universal male 15/16 -27 aerators won't fit. What delta aerator models will fit?
