At hardware store, i only find the 1.2 gpm aerator with a "lock" (to prevent vandalism?). Why does 1.2 need a lock, when 1.5 does not? Do I need a 1.2 if i am replacing a 1.2 gpm? Can i replace with 1.5 gpm and avoid the lock? Vandalism is no concern.

Aerators have different thread sizes to fit different faucet models. Some faucet models include a vandal-resistant aerator for public installations. Installers often prefer a lower flow rate for public faucets so vandal-resistant aerators typically have a lower flow rate. I have a Windemere faucet Model #25996LF-OB and I need a new aerator for it as the old one went bad. I think the aerator is MODEL#: RP61340OB-1.2 but it says it is not available. Is there a place I can buy this aerator or is there a replacement I can use?

RP61340-1.2 discontinued in the bronze colors. Black is not an acceptable substitute. What is the replacement for just the internal aerator parts? Or do I really need to replace all my faucets with a different brand to make them match?

This faucet uses an aerator with a female thread size 55/64"-27. The original aerator for this model is discontinued, but we recommend the replacement aerator RP70195-1.2.
