Dear Bud, Thank you for your question. To remove the Delta Contact Assembly RP63220, from your Delta Ashton kitchen faucet 19922T-SSSD-DST, you would need to first remove the cap assembly. Once the RP51502 (cap assembly) is removed the contact assembly pulls off and then you can unscrew the bonnet nut RP51503. Best regards, Tanya

Hi Drew, Thanks for your question regarding RP63220! This spring is needed to transmit the touch signal from the handle, touching the handle would not activate the faucet without it.
