Is this a thermostatic cartridge with a temp limit stop?

Asked by: bronco78
Hello Bronco78, Thank you for your question. This cartridge is not a thermostatic temperature adjusting part. It is not pressure-balanced, it is not designed for use in showering applications in the US or Canada. Our temperature adjusting thermostatic cartridge assembly for our 17T shower models is RP47201. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP47201 Best regards, Tanya

Does this cartridge work with 14 series tub and shower trims ?

Asked by: Rieaz
Hi Rieaz, Thank you for your question. This cartridge will work any R10000 rough-in valve. However, since it is not pressure-balanced, it is not designed for use in showering applications in the US or Canada. Best regards, Jon

water is not getting hot, how do I adjust

Asked by: Dave
Hi, Dave! Thank you for your question. This RP73598 cartridge does have a rotational limit stop that can be adjusted to get hotter water. Here is a how-to video in our video gallery on how to adjust the rotational limit stop: https://www.deltafaucet.com/video-gallery/video-page?videoId=n2_uZ7wgV1I Best Regards, Rosanna

My building inspector told me I need a tempering valve.  Freestanding floor mounted faucet with handheld shower.  Is this actually a code requirement in California?  He said it could be mounted in Lav cabinet.  Plumber said I would lose pressure.

Asked by: Byrnes
Hi, Byrnes! Thank you for your question. The Delta RP73598 Valve Cartridge Assembly can be purchased to increase flow rate for the a Delta Floor Mount Filler Trim. Best Regards, Rosanna

if this is not pressure balanced or thermostatic will I be required by code to install a anti scald guard on my hot line?

Asked by: bronco78
Hello Bronco78, Thank you for your question. The Delta RP73598 Valve Cartridge Assembly can be purchased to increase flow rate for the a Delta Floor Mount Filler Trim. The RP73598 cartridge does not have a pressure-balance spool, which means there is less restriction within the cartridge. All of our floor-mount tub fillers have approximately the same flow rate. Why differences in GPM-specs for products which "work together"

I am considering Delta T4768-SS using "optional" cartridge RP73598 and required "rough" R4700-FL for a very-nice Soaking Tub. Seeking products which maximize flow-rate fro 95-gallon (maximum) tub. BIG percentage differences given between these three products at 70-psi: -T4768 Spec-Sheet (with RP73598) approx. 10.2 gpm (per graph) -RP73598 Spec Sheet approx 12.0 gpm (per graph) -T4700-FL NONE SPECIFIED (NO graph) Q-What would be the FINAL flow-rate (GPM) for this EXPENSIVE installation? Q-is there a way to INCREASE flow-rate? Q-Is there a conflict when R4700 specifies "Pressure-Balanced" Cartridge [per "sell-sheet"] vs RP73598 NOT "Pressure Balanced'? Q-Is there a higher-GPM DELTA Floor-Mounted Tub-Filler system than the above system?
Asked by: TigerSpace
TigerSpace, Thank you for your questions! The final maximum flow rate will depend on the pressure in your home and can be determined from the flow rate graph in the Technical Specifications for the model T4768-SSLF (approximately 10.2 GPM at 70 PSI with RP73598). The only way to increase the flow rate is to use RP73598. The RP73598 cartridge does not have a pressure-balance spool, which means there is less restriction within the cartridge. All of our floor-mount tub fillers have approximately the same flow rate. https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-B-T4768-FL%20Rev%20A.pdf Best regards, Jon

I have the freestanding tub faucet that can’t go beyond lukewarm even after adjusting it to the hottest setting.  Will this valve allow the water to get hot?

Asked by: Dave
Hello Dave, Thank you for contacting us. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing reduced hot flow from your Delta faucet! We would be happy to help. The most common cause of a low flow rate is debris. The best way to clear any debris is to flush the supply lines. To do this, turn off the water supplies, remove the cartridge, and turn the supplies back on for one minute. Please make sure that you are getting good flow through both the hot and cold sides while flushing. If the issue remains you can try soaking the cartridge in white vinegar for about 15-30 minutes. Please contact us back with any further questions. Best Regards, Skyler
