Rated 3 out of 5 by from Perfect parts, lack of proper instructions. Part works great, once you figure out the proper orientation of the spring, plastic cup, cartridge and handle. When I pulled off the handle and cartridge, the spring and cup came out of place, so I had no idea regarding the proper placement and orientation of these. Trial and error, and 1/2 hour later, I figured out that the spring goes in the hole first, then the cup goes over the spring, cup side down. Then the cartridge needs to go with the tab oriented to that the handle will fit over it. Also, as you're tightening the big nut, the cartridge can shift upward and out of the slots, which allows it to turn. So you may need to take a small tool to push down on the cartridge (not the stem) while you're tightening down the nut. A simple picture of this would have made the job simple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just What I Needed I had a faucet that would not shut water off to the spout. I went to Home Depot to get a replacement part and installed it and the faucet still ran. I sent away for the"official" part from Delta and the problem was fixed. I can't tell any difference between the HD part and the Delta part. The Delta part is more expensive but then it worked. I'll be more skeptical of repair parts HD. The Delta package contained two sets so that makes the individual unit price not so bad.

Can the RP74418 replace the RP 24096?

What is the part number for the seat and springs that are within the 74418? I already have a kit for another faucet that is a RP4993G and I was wondering if I could use it. Also, what is the body o-ring technical spec. of the ID, OD, TK Vicki

The Delta RP74418 will accept the RP4993, and the dimensions are as follows: The outer o-ring is RP1129 which is 11/16" ID x 13/16" OD x 1/16" thick. The inner o-ring is RP75547 which is .339ID x .545OD x .103 thick.
