When I installed this, the faucet handle now turns in the opposite direction to shut off. Did I install the wrong replacement stem?

Asked by: radmscott
Hello radmscott, Thank you for your question! We are happy to help. If the handle turns in the wrong direction, rotate the stem stop assembly 180 degrees. This will change the rotation direction. The manual for your faucet model will show the correct orientation. Please reach out directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Best regards, Bryan

I have a VERO 3555LF faucet with very low hot water flow (water pressure to faucet is perfect).  Will changing the cartridge help?  Do you have instructions on how to do so?  Is the original part RP 24096 now replaced by RP 8230?

Asked by: Joseph
Hello Joseph, Please shut water supplies off before starting this process. You will need 1/8” allen wrench if you have lever handles, a Philips screwdriver if you have knob handles, towel and bucket. Please remove your handle with the 1/8" allen wrench if you have a lever or remove the top cap to reveal the Philips screw if you have a knob handle, then pull the handle off of the stem unit. You will now see a bonnet nut, please remove with your wrench. Please take note on how your stem units are installed in the valve. Please lift straight up to pull the stem units out and If you look into the valve, you should see a seat and spring. Please pull these pieces out before we flush. Next place the towel behind the back of the faucet then put the bucket over top of the towel. Have someone turn cold water supply on for about 30 seconds to a minute. After this, shut the cold water off and move the bucket and towel to the hot side flush that out as well. Lastly, Remove the aerator and soak with a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water for about 15 minutes, and make sure to rinse the aerator off with water when completed. Please contact back for any further questions. Best Regards,Nicole

I have a tub 2 handle facet that is leaking on both handles. Is this a standard part for several faucets? Is there a part number on my faucet so I can ensure the correct part?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello customer! Thank you for your question! Our two handle tub faucets would use brass stem RP24096 and plastic stem RP1740 with seats and springs RP4993. This ceramic stem, seat, and spring kit RP8230 can also be used for especially hard water. Please reach out if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Best regards, Bryan

1. The old unit had a (tapered) spring and seat. The (RP8230) replacement has a non-tapered spring and o-ring. Is that OK?

Asked by: Bill
Hi Bill, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! We recommend using the tapered seat and spring as the original parts. The non-tapered seat and spring fits in our older faucets, and they had a different type of valve. We appreciate your inquiry. Please reach out directly if you have further questions! (See Question 1 first) 2. RP8230 replacement part has projection/ridge covering about 25% of the top part of the cartridge. This raised area is directly behind the flat part of the rotating mechanism. Website image shows raised area more to the side. OK?

Asked by: Bill
Hi Bill, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! We recommend using the tapered seat and spring as that was the original parts in the valve. It is possible the stem unit will not tighten completely, resulting in a leak. We appreciate your inquiry. Please reach out directly if you have further questions! I know this comes with the Seat O’ring and Spring, what model of those are they?  Earlier someone asked if this  can work in place of the RP42216 (which I can’t find) and the answer was “yes, as long as you have the RP10700 seat and spring set”.

The cartridge I pulled out looks like this, but I have a quarter turn in mine. Do i purchase this one and transfer my quarter turn to that? Because i ended up buying the 25513
