We purchased the shower/ tub kit with this wand only to have it begin to peel two months after the install. We don’t have kids so the wand hasn’t had a great deal of use…I think it must be from the holder. Now I have to buy a new wand because the 1st one looks terrible. I won’t ever recommend Delta to friends.

Does the 55085 have a flow restricted?

Hello Frank, Thank you for your question regarding the Delta Compel® Premium Single-Setting Adjustable Wall Mount Hand Shower and I am happy to assist you today. This model has a built in flow restrictor which allows for 1.75 gallons of water to flow through the wand per each minute the unit runs. I want to plumb hand shower 55085 as a seperate fixture, not with a diverter from a shower or tub. Can I use trim T17253 and valve R10000-unbx w/ it?

Hi James, Thank you for your question. If you want to use the 55085 as the only shower head we recommend going with the T17053 valve only trim, the R10000-UNBX, and the 50570 wall elbow. If you plan on using the showerhead that comes with the T17253 trim and the 55085 hand shower you will have to install some type of either shower arm diverter or an in wall diverter using our R11000 diverter rough and the T11853 diverter trim. Is the hand shower ADA compliant? Can it be made compliant with a vertical bar for adjustable height? If not, do you have a matte black hand shower that is ADA compliant? Thanks.

Thank you for your question, Jennie! Model 55085-BL by itself is not ADA compliant and should never be used for support however this hand shower can be used on an ADA compliant slide bar such as model 56302. Unfortunately we do not offer an ADA compliant slide bar in the Matte Black finish. I want to add this or something similar to my shower. My shower has the Kya set installed. How do I get the handheld to work at times and the showerhead at other times? If I need a diverter can it be on the lower part where you turn on the water?
