Was happy with it the first year but it has gradually gotten to the point where we barely have enough water pressure to wash the shampoo out of our hair. Please advise me on how to clean out sediment or what to do. I am very frustrated with this shower head.

I just renovated my bathroom and had a handheld showered previously that was mounted to the tub surface. I loved it, but with the hose retracting to beneath the tub, eventually there was some subfloor damage. Problem solved with this surface mounted fixture, and the pole is mounted to a height that allows it to reach the back of the tub when I wash my hair. The champagne bronze finish is lovely, and I remain a committed fan of Delta plumbing fixtures for their quality and warranty.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy overall This is a beautiful addition to the shower. The 3 settings to the shower head are nice to have, although I only use two of the three settings. You twist the shower head to change the settings, which is a clever way to have multiple settings without having some ugly switch or button. The length of the tube is way longer than expected, so you can mount it up pretty high and still be able to use it for things like washing a dog. If there is a complaint it’s that the mount that holds the hand piece is too small for it. Only maybe 1/2 of an inch of the hand sits down in to its holster (or whatever it’s called), so it gets bumped out frequently, or falls out on its own if it’s put away at an angle where the top-heavy head is pointed too far downward. So far the falls haven’t damaged the unit, but I fear that it’s only time before it does. Otherwise, we are happy with it.

It started leaking out the head and does not appear to be rebuildable. The bronze came off the hose with in the first 6 months. Out of 6 Delta fixtures we bought in 2014 when we remodeled our house, this is the only one we were not happy with. For the price I would have expected more longevity.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Design flaw There is not enough room between the wall and the slide bar to adequately use the shower head. When in use, the shower head needs to angle down which in turn puts a kink in the hose near the base of the handle. The handle then pushes against the wall creating pressure enough to pop the bottom mount from off the wall. To use the shower, I have too keep my squeegee behind the handle to hold it up otherwise the weight from the head is too much to handle and fold down thus cutting off the water pressure. It is a design flaw as there needs to be more room between the wall and the slide bar.

Three settings - soft overall shower, powerful direct massage, and an indirect open flow. The hose assists in shaving legs, and also provides direct aim for a relaxing massage for tired shoulders. We like it, we would buy it again, and we recommend it to others. The finish has held up very well - no discoloration or rust or delamination.

It's only leaking on one of the modes, but its the mode we prefer. I've been looking for a way to repair it, but it looks like I need a new shower head.

The bracket that holds the removable hand shower head in position does not work properly (the shower head is too heavy and the shower head tilts downward). The sliding bar bracket stays in place on the bar ... but the bracket part that is supposed to hold the hand shower in place turns and the shower head sprays downward (instead of at an angle). I have to use a clear plastic suction cup holder (placed on the wall) to keep the shower head from tilting downward.

When the head is turned the hose and the end of the head hits the back wall and will knock it out of the cradle. This was installed by a professional during a shower conversion by Statewide Remodeling.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This shower head has leaked after a few years of wear. The head turns to choose the spray you might want but if you do turn the dial it will leak. Sadly the shower head selection spray dial leaks so bad all around the black rubber ring we are unable to use the head except on strong message spray. I researched the Delta site only to find no part # or recommendation how to prevent the leak. I would not buy Delta 57021 again.

How much of this item is made of plastic...I want all of the slide bar parts made of metal including what the handheld shower bracket and the hose and the shower head itself.

Thank you for your question Dale! The slide bar is metal. This unit also has a 60-82" stretchable metal hose. Our hand showers are non-metallic, as metal is heavier, retains heat and is susceptible to corrosion. Best regards, Edward

57021-ss extra pcs

i will purchasing the shower hand spray with bar 57021-ss what other parts are needed, like the knob to turn on/off? i will be purchasing a rain shower head to be used on ceiling mount, and want to control both of these pieces separately.

Hi RPM, Thank you for your question. You will need to order a valve only trim of your choice in the (SS) brilliance stainless finish, a R10000 multichoice rough in valve, a 3 setting diverter trim model that will start with T118, a R11000 diverter rough, a RP50570SS wall elbow, a RP61058SS ceiling mount shower arm and flange, the rain showerhead of your choice, and the 57051-SS slide bar hand shower. The diverter will allow you to operate the showerheads separately or both at the same time. Thanks, Dave

Does this product have a removable flow restrictor?

I am considering a model 57021 handshower. Our water supply pressure is 30-40 psi, so a fixture rated at 2.5 gpm at 80 psi will actually deliver much less. Is there anything we can do about this?

Hi John, Thank you for your question. Flow restrictors are usually found in the neck or threaded end of the shower head exposed when the shower head is removed from the shower arm. While it is possible to remove flow restrictors from shower heads, we strongly advise against it for several reasons. Flow restrictors for faucets are an integral part of most showerheads and it is generally not possible or desirable to remove them. For water conservation purposes, most plumbing codes require faucets and showering devices to not exceed a certain maximum flow rate. Removing the flow restrictors could cause these devices to no longer meet these codes. At 40-50 psi the model 57021-SS hand shower will provide approximately 2 to 2.25 gpm. Thanks, Dave

This model does not include a shower elbow or a separate hand shower mount. It does include the handheld wand, hose, and wall bar with an adjustable hand shower mount that is secured to the bar. Here are three shower elbow models that have a similar style to this hand shower: 50560-SS, 50570-SS (cubicle), and U4980-SS-PK. If you are interested in purchasing a separate wall mount for your hand shower I would recommend model RP61294SS as it has a similar style to this hand shower. I hope this was helpful!
