Rated 1 out of 5 by from Design is anything but "Universal Mount" This review is for a front mounted handle on the left side of the tank. Warning! Don’t be fooled by Delta’s “Universal Mount” terminology as it is terribly misleading. While the handle easily attaches to the tank in a standard manner, the arm that attaches to the flapper is joined to the handle by a plastic section in the shape of a “J”. When attached to the handle the “J” protrudes approximately 2-5/8” directly into the tank (much too far), and only 1-1/2” to right (not far enough). These dimensions did not allow the arm to clear the fill valve (located in the back, left of the tank), rendering the product unusable. Admittedly, I do not have a Delta tank, but neither it nor my fill valve are unusually shaped or sized (interior dimension front-to-back is 8-3/4”). Delta obviously added the “J” section to an arm that can swing fully left or right to create the “Universal Mount”, but Delta’s design went too far into the tank before changing direction, and having gone that far into the tank, Delta needed the section of the “J” that goes to the left or the right to be longer to clear the fill valve. Failing to do so made their “Universal Mount” tank lever non-functional. In the interest of fairness, I liked the aesthetics of the handle, and the quality of materials seemed satisfactory. I would have been satisfied if it could have been made functional.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Have to push hard to flush These look nice enough but you have to push them down pretty hard to flush the toilets we used them on (American Standard Champion 4). That may be because they are pretty short so there is not a lot of leverage or may just be the case with the particular toilet model. The reality is that you're changing the flusher that the toilet manufacturer designed specifically for the toilet.

Is this correct - pulling the lever up to flush? I wish I had been told that before I ordered the lever. I might have gotten a different style.

At first we thought getting the Tank Levers were an extravagant item, but once the builder installed them it really added the final touch of elegance to our bathrooms. We love them and would highly recommend them on a new build or a remodel. They truly added the finishing touch to our new home.

The toilet we bought had a basic, modern handle that just looked out of place. This is a tiny detail that makes a difference, and ties the bathroom together. Also, it's been in use for about a year and a half with no problems. I'd recommend it!

It states fits all toilets with handles on the front. I used this with a Kohler "Portrait" 2 piece toilet which has the handle slightly around the side of the tank. It worked fine. Although I didn't install it, the plumber said it fit nicely

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finishing touch to any bathroom remodel/update I recently remodeled my guest bathroom and replaced the 1980's shiny brass fixtures and hardware with Delta's Cassidy Collection Venetian Bronze faucets, shelf/towel bar, towel hooks, and towel bars but realized my American Standard toilet had a chrome tank lever. I was delighted to find the Cassidy Tank Lever in the same Venetian Bronze finish. It's a little detail that completed my update. It looks and works great. I'm very happy with the entire Delta Cassidy Collection.

I ordered this and it's beautiful but I have a toilet with a side-mounted lever not front-facing. It says this is universal. Can it be altered to work on my toilet?

Does the 79760 work on a Gerber Avalanche tank #28-890?

According to Megan in toilet technical, it should fit on any side mount or front mount tanks.

I have an a toilet that is 24 years old. The hole that the lever goes through is an oval hole 1 inch by 3/4 inch.

Will the lever bolt fit through this size hole. Can I purchase the lever 79760-cz. will it fit. the specs show a nut at 1 and 1/8 inch but what size is the bolt that goes through the tank.

Hi Dave, Thank you for your question. The bolt size of the tank lever 79760-CZ is approximately 9/16" outside diameter. The lever has a 5/8" square behind the threaded bolt that fits into the toilet tank opening. We would not recommend our tank lever for the 1" x 3/4" oval opening on your toilet tank. Thanks, Dave

Is it possible to reverse direction of the lever?

Is it possible to reverse direction of the lever action? I have a Toto toilet that the handle mounts on the left side and would like to have the lever point forward instead of to the rear. The only way I see to do this is if you push the lever up to flush which does not seem normal. Is there a method to install with the lever forward and pushing down?

Hi Bob, Thank you for your question. The flush mechanism on the model 79760-CZ only travels in a counter-clockwise direction. So even though you can position the handle and the flush arm in different configurations, the mechanism only moves in on direction. So, handle pointing back, flushing down, and handle pointing forward, flushing up are your two choices for a left side mount. Thanks, Dave
