Thank you for your question, Julie! Model T17299 has a temperature knob cover that does use a set screw. Once this is removed, the cover can then be pried off by applying pressure to the back side or side opposite the lever. Beneath this cover you will find a Phillips Head Screw that holds the Temperature Knob onto the cartridge. Secure the escutcheon using the set screw. Models manufactured in Sept. 2006 or later will have a MultiChoice valve, which will allow you to change the series of trim. MultiChoice series numbers are 13, 14, 17, or 17T. Units made before this date can be upgraded, but only with a trim of the corresponding series. 1300/1400 Series trims can be replaced with 13/14 Series trim kits using the original RP19804 cartridge, and 1700 Series trims can be replaced with 17 Series trim kits using the RP32104 cartridge. To operate multiple units, you would need a trim kit with a 3 to 6 setting diverter. The T17299-SS would not be able to operate multiple units.
