I am putting in a walk in shower, I would like to have a rain shower and two wall shower heads is it possible to run all at once and if so what mixer/configuration would I need, there is 1/2 inch lines to the area now would I need to increase these lines?
Asked by: mmoore53105
Hi Mmoore53105,
Thank you for your question. The Delta R11000 Diverter 3/6 Setting valve will work with a raincan shower head and two wall mounted hand showers. However, a six setting cartridge will allow you to use each product individually as well as offering 3 shared positions. All three are not designed to run at the same time.

Hi Chris, Thank you for your question!
Yes! When only using a 3 setting application the right port of the R11000 diverter valve has to be capped.

rough-in valve requirements
We want a simple system: a shower head and a handheld. We believe we need
T17T238-PT Faucet One Handle Shower Only Faucet Trim
T11800-RB 3 Setting Diverter Trim
R11000 6 Setting Diverter Rough
54613-RD handheld
But the page on the shower handle and head says it requires rough-in R10000-UNBX. Is this still required? We would think that the R11000 would handle the head only, shower only, both in use operation.
So the question is can we use only the R11000?
Asked by: sharon
Thank you for your questions. Yes, you will need the R10000-UNBX to turn on and off your shower system. The Delta Faucet model # R11000 is a diverter rough only. It just switches the water from one device the other or share the devices. You will also need the wall elbow for your handheld shower which is model number 50560-RB.

Hi, Hawkie!
Thank you for your question. If you're using only two ports, we advise to plug the 3rd port which is the right port with the plug, RP20032, that is provided with the diverter valve body.

Multiple diverters
I have to plumb a system that has a regular shower head, rain shower head, hand held shower and jets. Customer talked to a delta rep and they gave him one volume and temp valve, and two; three port, six function diverters.
Should I...
1.) cap the tub end on temp/volume control and come out of top outlet to first diverter and put the regular shower head and jets off that diverter and come out the third port to the secondary diverter and tie the rain head and hand shower off of that?
2.) cap the tub end of the temp/volume control and tee off to each diverter individually and cap the indicated outlets? So then both diverters would have a dead spot on the handle rotation.
3.) tie one diverter off the shower outlet of the temp/volume control and cap the indicated outlet, and come of the tub outlet for the other diverter. Which would then again mean that there would be dead spots on the handle rotation.
Asked by: Matt
Hi Matt, Thank you for your question. We would not recommend hooking up 2 diverters to a single volume/temperature valve as the valve does not produce the flow rate needed to run that many features. An additional volume/temperature valve would be needed. You could then plumb 3 features to a single 3 port 6 setting diverter and 1 directly to the valve with no diverter or use 2 two port 3 setting diverters.
Thanks,
Dave

using R11000 with R10000
I am watching my plumber install, and I don't think he's doing it right. Using pex, he plumbed the 12oclock port directly to the rainhead. Shouldn't the diverter be in between the 2? There is also a handheld and 2 body sprays. How should these be plumbed and do you need to loop the sprays with the pex? Can you use pex for all of it? Lastly, will this valve supply enough water to the 9" rainhead?
Asked by: riobella
Hi riobella,
Thank you for your questions! The top port of the R10000 valve should be plumbed into the bottom port of the R11000. From there, you can use any of the remaining 3 ports of the R11000 for your shower head, handheld, or body sprays. A set of two body sprays will not require a pressure balancing loop. PEX tubing can be used for any of the plumbing, except to a tub spout (if applicable).
The amount of water flow you will get from the valves will depend on the pressure in the home as well as the trim kit you choose for the R10000 valve. However, with 60 or more PSI, there should be be enough flow to run a 2.5 GPM raincan shower head as well as shared diverter functions.
Thanks,
Jon

I have a valve and shower head, rain can, hand held and 4 body sprays (2 sprays in one location and 2 sprays in another.)
how many diverters and valve do I need i thought I would need just one 6 setting diverter but I am being told that will not work
Asked by: Lori Corcoran
Hi Lori,
Thank you for your question. With the setup you are looking for, you will need two R10000 valves and trim, and two R11000 valves and trim. We recommend to use no more than 3 body sprays on one port of the diverter. In this case you will need one 3 setting diverter and one 6 setting diverter trim to operate the shower head, rain can, handshower, and two sets of body sprays.
Thanks,
Jon

Right side outlet
You mention that the primary outlet is at the 12 o'clock position and secondary at 9 o'clock. I want to plug the 9 and use the 3 o'clock for my hand shower because that's the easiest side to plumb it in. Will the valve work this way?
Asked by: Jim the mover
Hi Jim, Thank you for your question. If you are plumbing the R11000 to be used with 2 devices and using a 3 setting diverter trim you will have to cap the 3 o'clock port. The unit will not function properly if you cap off the 9 o'clock port.

What do I need to rough in a regular shower head and rain shower head, and have the ability to run them separately or together?
Hi,
I am roughing in a shower with 3/4 inch supply lines, and need to run a main shower head/wand combo, and a rain shower head. I want the ability to run them separately or together. I know I probably need a 3/4 mixing valve to match my lines, and be able to have enough water available, but beyond that not sure what else I need? As far as the mixing valve, I want to be able to set the temperature once, and just turn on water volume everytime (don't want to have to adjust for temperature everyday). Please let me know what products I need to purchase to accomplish this.
Thanks
Asked by: Rainmaker
Hi Rainmaker, Thank you for your question. Delta only offers tub/shower valves and diverter valves in 1/2" size. To run multiple devices you would need a R10000-UNBXHF rough, a Tempassure 17T series tub/shower trim of your choice, a R11000 diverter rough, and a matching 3 setting 2 port diverter trim.
If you need a 3/4" valve you can look at the Brizo Sensori line. This high flow system offers a tub/shower valve and individual volume controls for each device.

Changing cartridges after installation?
If I want to change cartridges after installation (sheet rock and tile work), is that possible? For example if I decide I want to run only 1 component at a time vs two can I change out the cartridge that comes with my trim for RP71717 by just removing trim? Or does that need to be done when the diverter valve is installed?

Thank you for your inquiry! Yes, the cartridge assembly can be replaced once the Delta 3 / 6-Setting Diverter Rough-In Valve R11000 is installed. The handle trim area would just need to be removed.

What is the typical distance between R11000 and R10000?
The R11000 will be installed above the R10000. If they are too close, the trim may not fit or will be touching. If they are too far apart, they will not look proportional.

Are the installation instructions for the r11000 diverter valve body correct? It states that the front of the bonnet nut should be sub flush to the finished wall, however the inlet does not line up (depthwise) with the outlet of the shower valve (R1000).
Asked by: TigerSam
Hi TigerSam,
Thank you for your inquiry! Yes, the installation instructions are correct for the Delta 3/6-Setting Diverter R11000 valve assembly. The diverter valve would be sub flushed, because it doesn't have screws to connecting the escutcheon plate, like the main R10000-UNBX rough-in, that would be installed below it.

Hi Aphuff,
Thank you for your question! Yes, a 3/6 setting diverter will work in a tub and shower setup. The tub spout should be connected to the bottom port of the main valve (R10000). When the tub spout diverter is used, it will send water to the R11000 valve.

Hi GRB, Thank you for your question. The R11000 diverter rough will be used with either our 3-Setting 2-Port diverter trim or the 6-Setting 3-Port diverter trim. The 3 setting trim models will begin with T118 and are used with 2 devices like a fixed showerhead and a hand shower. The 6 setting trim models begin with T119 and work with 3 devices like a fixed shower head, body sprays, and a slidebar hand shower.
The diverter trims are offered in most of our faucet collections to match the tub/shower valve trim.

I have an overhead shower head, a handheld wand and a tub spout . Do I plumb the tub spout to the diverter valve or to the main mixer?
Asked by: Jamey
Dear Jamey,
Thank you for your question. The tub spout should be plumbed to the bottom side of the main valve. The R11000 Delta 3 / 6-Setting Diverter Rough would be plumbed coming off the top side of the main valve, with the shower head plumbed to the top of it. The handshower should be plumbed to the left side of the diverter valve, right side capped off. Installation directions link below.

After going back and re reading instructions it says to plug the right. So is their another cartrige that will fix my problem? or is the only solution to go back in and cap the right and supply from the left and turn pipe back 180 degrees to get to the right side wand?
or any other solution thoughts

Thank you for your question. Since the R11000 was capped off on the wrong side, there are two fixes. One is to take out the rough in valve and start all over. A better option is to switch your cartridge to the 6 way diverter cartridge. You may expericence some dead spots when turning your handle but you will be able to use all of the function of your faucet. The 6 function diverter cartridge is RP51919.
