Thank you for your question. The Delta RP17449 Handle Assembly Kit fits our older lavatory handles. This handle can turn left/right and up/down.

module inside of knob is broken. keep spinning.
3 pictures are emailed. one on the left(blue dot on it) is the one broken. one on the right is working. i do not know exactly what to get and how to replace it.

does this have the hex opening on the inside of the knob?
Thank you for your question, Anita! This knob does have a hexagon shaped insert. If you see a hex shaped mounting hole and stem, the handle insert is probably stuck on the stem of the ball assembly. Please try soaking it using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water, and pull the gray hexagon shaped piece off. You should then be able to install this handle.

Where can I find a Delta knob with a hex shaped mounting hole?
I can find plenty of Delta crystal lavatory knobs with diamond shaped mounting holes but none with the hex mount. I need three of these handles. Mine are all stamped with MP 14 inside near the hex shaped stem hole. I can't cross reference this part number anywhere on the internet including Delta.com. This handle I've found on your website looks to be the right one except for the mounting issue. I blew up the schematic and the stem for this one is diamond shaped so it won't work. I need hex shaped stem mount. Please help me find the right part number.

Is there a replacement for this knob (RP 17449) that is not plastic?
Hi Greg, Thank you for your question. The RP17449 lavatory handle can be replaced by a metal lever style handle but you will also have to replace the ball assembly RP70, and the cam and packing RP61 to make the switch from knob to lever.

Ordered part #17449 and it is too small for my shower.
The existing handle I have measures 2-1/4 inch (opening) by 2-1/4 inch high and has a rectangular opening to attach to the shower handle instead of the diamond shape on model #RP17449. Do you carrier a larger version of RP17449?

I have a 39 yr old lavatory single plastic knob fixture and the knob is broken. I believe it is a Model 522 or similar. The stem has a diamond shape and the knob has a diamond shaped opening in the center. What model number knob does it use?
