Hi fb2014, Thank you for your question. The new RP188 will replace the older model. The new cam assembly is a 1 piece design where the old cam and packing was a 2 piece design. If you faucet cap has an adjusting ring in it that would tighten down over the old cam, it will need to be removed when using the new cam. Thanks, Dave

Hi Murray, Thank you for your question. The new RP188 cam assembly is a direct replacement for the older model RP188 cam and packing that came as 2 separate pieces. When switching from the old style to the new you will have to remove the adjusting ring from the cap that holds down the cam assembly. Thanks, Dave

Hi RLRL, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP188. This is used by many faucet models with a knob handle including bathroom faucet models 502, 503, 522, 540, 541, 542, and 544.
