What is the easiest or best way to replace the sprayer hose assembly on an older model 420 kitchen faucet?
I would like to remove the faucet from the sink, attach the sprayer hose to the faucet, and then reattach the faucet to the sink? Is this a reasonable way to proceed? Should I replace the diverter at the same time? Any tips would be appreciated.

Hi Grace, Thank you for your question. We would recommend replacing the spray hose assembly without removing the entire faucet from the counter top. The spray hose connection to the faucet should be a threaded connection that you would just unscrew to remove and then pull the assembly out through the the top of the hose support. The diverter is located under the spout on the model 420. You will need to remove the handle and cap from the faucet. Once those parts are removed you can pull the spout up and off the valve assembly. The diverter can then be accessed and removed. I have attached a link to the model 420 manual which includes the parts breakdown which should help with your repair.

I have a 400lf-wf faucet, brand new. the sprayer hose is leaking at the fitting where the hose brass swivel attaches to the pipe from the faucet. is this a compression type of fitting? is teflon tape required on the threads.
