Thank you for your question, Udhoop! You will need to start by going under the sink, and loosen the pivot nut. Once this is done, disconnect the horizontal rod from the bottom of the stopper. Once you are able to remove the stopper from the drain, you can soak it in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water.
