Rated 2 out of 5 by from Difficult to turn off water We had a plumber install a Delta Collins Chrome kitchen faucet. I hate the way the faucet is designed to turn off the water. The lever must be dead center or the water does not turn off. This often requires more than one attempt to shut the water off properly. We were advised by our plumber to purchase a better faucet than what we have in our bathrooms, which are made by Pfister, model Pasadena. These faucets can be turned off in any position - hot or cold, no problem. Why are your faucets designed they way they are? We are replacing our counters and we are opting to replace the Delta faucet because we are so unhappy with the way it functions.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Constant drip Had plumber install new kitchen faucet. Put in 400 and it dripped. Came back replaced parts still had issues. Came back again and put in the 440. This is costing me a fortune. This one still drips and there is no clear off spot like the Delta faucet installed in my bathroom. As a disabled veteran I'm upset and frustrated. Called plumber and was told it's a Delta issue. Really, I don't have a lot of money and cannot afford to keep paying to have someone install a brand new product. I was told Delta is one of the best, well for me it's been nothing, but a pain.

We had never had the stainless finish in our previous faucets (always chrome), this is what helped us choose the particular looks of this model. The installation couldn't have been easier, although I hurt my back just getting under our sink to see what everything looked like (I am 74 years old). We are so very happy, everything works the way it should -- first time!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stylish but drips for almost 10 minutes This faucet is stylish and works fine... expect long service. Drips for almost 10 minutes after shut off. Contacted customer service and they are sending new cartridge and ring... hope that will solve it... stay tuned. I hope so as I paid a plumber to install. I gave it 4 stars based on Delta reputation and that the new cartridge will fix it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hot to cold adjustment has issues Installed about 4 years ago. Easy install and finish is still great. Have the same issue as another reviewer, a very minor adjustment from cold to hot, say 1/4", can turn the cold water to scalding hot. We have gotten used to it but a friend almost scalded her hands when helping with the dishes. Was told by a plumber to check inside the valve to be sure everything was assembled correctly but could not get the bonnet nut off as it was too tight to budge without fear of damaging it. I hope I don't have to open to replace the valve cartridge someday.

After years of daily use it began to leak, I contacted Delta and quickly they sent out a repair kit. When that didn't solve the problem, they sent a complete new faucet. All at no additional cost. I'd mentioned finish issues due to "lime-a-way" etching the finish and they said, no problem. We'll send a new one... Thank you Delta

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Customer Service Wow! Delta REALLY does stand behind its products. Have had this faucet for about three years. It worked great-easy install, no drips. But then suddenly the spray and hose assembly malfunctioned and the faucet stopped working. We were thinking of replacing with a new faucet when our local plumbing supply suggested that we contact Delta. Wow! They immediately sent the parts we needed and now our faucet is working better than ever. You can be sure our next faucet WILL be a Delta! The customer service rep was knowledgeable and polite-very easy to deal with.

There are faucets available in other finishes that I would love to have in bone, but they just don't make them. This is plain and simple but fits my needs without being fancy. I would just like to buy a really fancy one in bone. The fuacet is fine, works properly and that's what I expected.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Faucet has design problems This faucet replaced an older Delta faucet that we liked very much, but corroded out due to acid water. Unfortunately, the new 440-DST is not as good as the old one. Using the handle, it has a very narrow band of adjustment for temperature. Slightly too far to the left and you get scalded, slightly to far to the right and it's freezing cold. The smallest movement of the handle produces a drastic change in the temperature To turn off flow, handle has to be depressed exactly in the center position or it continues to drip, necessitating a return trip to the faucet to re-adjust the handle to center. While the new unit may not corrode like the old one, it is much harder to operate properly and wastes time for the user. Positive things: Spout swivels back and forth much easier, and spray nozzle hose seems more flexible.

He says it's due to the lack of a decent pressure gauge in the mechanism when using it with a portable dishwasher. Writes it off on his taxes, but he's getting tired of replacing it. Said he'd look into a different brand next time. We will see. Time will tell.

can I connect a portable dishwasher to spout?

Hi Rita, Thank you for your question. The aerator to the model 440-WH-DST faucet has 15/16"-27 threads. You will need a portable dishwasher aerator adapter not offered by Delta to hook up the dishwasher to the faucet. Thanks, Dave

How long are the water supply lines for the faucet 440-WH-DST?

Can I Install a Soap Dispenser with Delta 440-WH-DST

I have a four-hole white kitchen sink. Can I install a soap dispenser with Delta 4040-WH-DST? How? The photo seems o show a plate over three holes, and the fourth hole seems to accommodate the sprayer. Also, is this a high-arc faucet? Is it a good replacement for my current faucet, Model 174?

Hi Jim, Thank you for your question. The model 440-WH-DST is a 4 hole installation faucet. To install a soap dispenser with this model you would need to have a fifth hole. We offer the 441-WH-DST that is the same Collins faucet without the base plate. With this 2 hole faucet you would be able to add a soap dispenser. The model 440-WH-DST would not be considered a hi-arc faucet. The height to the faucet aerator is 5-7/32" compared to the 8-1/4" on your model 174. Thanks, Dave

Should faucet continue to flow when sprayer is on?

Hi Bill, Thank you for your question! The water should stop running from the main spout when the sprayer is running. If the water continues to run the diverter needs to be replaced. The diverter is apart of the sprayer assembly RP54235. Best regards, Brandis

do all 4-hole faucets have an 8 inch center set? I mean those with single handle and side spray. Are there 10 inch center sets?
