Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality and easy installation Was looking for a faucet to replace my leaking P-F kitchen faucet that would no longer respond to fixes. I couldn't find parts to replace the worn-out ones, either, so decided to buy a new fixture. For the amount I was willing to spend, this was a great choice! The instructions are clear and the high-quality faucet was easy to install, even with my limited plumbing skills.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from avoid this faucet It looks great, but according to the professional plumbers that I paid to install it, it cannot be firmly anchored to the sink. As one presses down on the spout, it rocks the sink and the base of the faucet down. If you lift the spout, the base rocks back. I brought Richardson Plumbers in a 2nd time to ask them what could be done to improve the situation. They told me that nothing could be done. What a disappointment!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaked from Handle and spout as soon as it was installed I was very disappointed. As soon as I turned it on, it started leaking from the spout and underneath the handle. I looked at the manual and checked to see that the nut in the handle was tight, and it still leaked. This is very bad quality control.

I can see Delta put some thought into the New model like the rigid plastic mounting gasket, the new more secure connection for the vegetable sprayer along with a kink free hose. Great improvements. Has been installed for a week and looks and works great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent faucet! This is a replacement faucet for a cheaper one that I had installed when I remodeled my kitchen. It was simple to install, no tool required and it performs perfectly. I like the design, and the fact that is features DIAMOND Seal Technology. No more drips. A bit pricey, but worth the cost. The lifetime warranty really is great!

I selected this one because of the lifetime warranty and have been very pleased with the purchase. We have had the product for 2 years and there is no sign of corrosion. We have had no problems with leaks or drips and the installation was very simple. I purchased this faucet at a plumbing supply store based on their recommendation and I have not been disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from They don't make them like they used to... What a difference twenty years make. That old chrome plated Delta single handle kitchen faucet we had installed in the mid nineties was built like a battleship and meant to last. Constructed of cast iron and copper, it weighed a ton, looked fantastic, and was totally trouble free. By contrast, its replacement, Delta 440-DST, is of flimsy construction, weighing next to nothing. To be fair, the faucet seems to function fairly well after a month's use, but here's my main complaint: the hard plastic gasket provided by Delta that fits between the escutcheon and the stainless sink top does not create a watertight seal. As the faucet escutcheon flexes ever so slightly when the faucet is turned on and off, water on the sink top wicks its way under the gasket where it eventually drips down onto the base of the kitchen cabinet. That means we have to keep a dish below the faucet to catch the drip. Now that's what I call a modern convenience.

can I connect a portable dishwasher to spout?

Hi Rita, Thank you for your question. The aerator to the model 440-WH-DST faucet has 15/16"-27 threads. You will need a portable dishwasher aerator adapter not offered by Delta to hook up the dishwasher to the faucet. Thanks, Dave

How long are the water supply lines for the faucet 440-WH-DST?

Can I Install a Soap Dispenser with Delta 440-WH-DST

I have a four-hole white kitchen sink. Can I install a soap dispenser with Delta 4040-WH-DST? How? The photo seems o show a plate over three holes, and the fourth hole seems to accommodate the sprayer. Also, is this a high-arc faucet? Is it a good replacement for my current faucet, Model 174?

Hi Jim, Thank you for your question. The model 440-WH-DST is a 4 hole installation faucet. To install a soap dispenser with this model you would need to have a fifth hole. We offer the 441-WH-DST that is the same Collins faucet without the base plate. With this 2 hole faucet you would be able to add a soap dispenser. The model 440-WH-DST would not be considered a hi-arc faucet. The height to the faucet aerator is 5-7/32" compared to the 8-1/4" on your model 174. Thanks, Dave

Should faucet continue to flow when sprayer is on?

Hi Bill, Thank you for your question! The water should stop running from the main spout when the sprayer is running. If the water continues to run the diverter needs to be replaced. The diverter is apart of the sprayer assembly RP54235. Best regards, Brandis

do all 4-hole faucets have an 8 inch center set? I mean those with single handle and side spray. Are there 10 inch center sets?

Hi, Aurora76! Thank you for your question. The Delta 440-DST Faucet works on 8" (203 mm ) centers. The sprayer hose assembly measures 45" (1143mm) long hose. We recommend checking our other kitchen faucets for 10" center faucets. Best Regards, Rosanna
