IN THE RESPONSE TO JOJO 3 DAYS AGO HOW MUCH MORE WILL THE DIVERTER VALVE REDUCE THE GPM FLOW TO THE SHOWER HEAD OR HAND SHOWER IT WAS MENTIONED BUT NOT QUALIFIED . AVG PSI FROM WELLS AROUND HERE ARE 50PSI . USING R10000UNWS WITH R1100

Asked by: JOJO
Hi, Jojo. Thank you for your question. The flow rate is determined by the PSI available to the home as well as the trim used. An R10000-UNWS will have a slightly reduced flow because of the stops but should provide approximately 4.5gpm @40 PSI when using a 13/14 and 17 series trim. The same trims can provide up to 6.5gpm if the home has 80PSI. The 17T Thermostatic trim kits will provide approximately 5.5gpm - 7.7gpm with this valve body. Please note that the flow rate will be further reduced with the addition of a diverter valve and trim so this will depend mostly on the PSI of the home. Best regards, Rosanna

Hi there..... I have purchased the following products and am wondering if I "also" need to purchase this diverter cartridge?  - Model: T27867-BL and Model: R22000-WS.   Thankyou, Scott

Asked by: Scott
Thank you for your question Scott! Model T27867-BL comes included with the RP51918 3 setting shared Diverter cartridge. The RP71717 is a 2 setting non shared cartridge, that fits into the same valve. It is not necessary to purchase the RP71717 cartridge, but can be purchased if you do not want a shared setting. Feel free to contact us directly, if you need further assistance. Best Regards, Benjamin

Can I use RP71717 with R22000 and T27T897? If not, is there a non-shared cartridge I can use?

Asked by: slowillie
Hi, Slowillie! Thank you for your question. The RP71717 will work with the T27T897 and the R22000 rough valve. Best Regards, Rosanna

I currently have roughed in a R22000-WS valve. I am only running a shower head OR handset. Will I need a two setting diverter non shared? Does it matter that the handset is on the right side of the valve?

Asked by: Skinny
Hi, Skinny! Thank you for your question. If you would like to run a hand shower and a shower head individually, without a shared setting for both units on at the same time, we would recommend the 2-setting non-shared diverter cartridge assembly, RP71717. The ports being used for two shower components must be the left and top ports. The right port must be plugged or the settings will not work properly. Best Regards, Rosanna

What is the maximum flow rate that can be achieved through the T11851 2-function non-shared diverter cartridge?

We have a R10000-UNWSHF universal valve that feeds the water to the diverter. The diverter is being used to send water to the Series 17 shower head and to the tub spout. Problem is that the tub spout is filling a rather large air tub and as is the flow out of the spout is very low which we would like to increase. Trying to determine if there is something wrong with the universal valve or is the problem the diverter cartridge.
Asked by: Bruce
Hi Bruce, Thank you for your question. At 60 PSI you should get about 5 gallons per minute from either port of the diverter valve. In a tub and shower installation, we recommend to use a diverter tub spout connected to the bottom port of the R10000 valve. However, high flow valves such as the R10000-UNWSHF do not have a bottom port as they are designed for shower only applications. Best regards, Jon

My "Master" plumber installed the R22000. In doing so did not read the instructions and piped to outlet 3 and capped off outlet 2. My question is does Delta make cartridge that uses outlets 1 and 3 to replace RP71717 that uses 1 and 2.

Asked by: Vinnievjb
Thank you for your question, Vinnievjb! The 3-Setting Non-shared Diverter Cartridge RP71718 will allow you to operate the top and right port. Note that it will have a single non-functioning setting, and the handle will not align with the markings on the trim. If plumbing codes allow and you wish to have shared settings, you can use the 6-Setting Diverter Cartridge RP51919. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP71718 https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP51919 Best regards, Jon

Product Specs

Hi there, What materials is this part made up of? It looks like the main body is Brass and then the components are ceramic? Is there any plastic in it? I have a cartridge (from another brand) that has deteriorated because of the plastic parts. I'm looking to replace it with this Delta part. Do you also have measurements of this part please? Thanks.
Asked by: Glynis
Hi Glynis, Thank you for your question. It is a ceramic valve with a brass stem and body. This cartridge has other non-metallic internal components as well. It is approximately 4 1/8" long and 1 1/4" in diameter Best regards, Jon
