RESEÑAS
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Simply need a 3 function, non-shared system Why can't I find a 3 function, non-shared shower system with Delta? Shower head, handheld and tub spout (non-diverter type). With the myriad of parts and the high cost, this does not seem to exist with Delta. To learn this, there are also hours of research and calls to customer support. If I'm wrong, I will update this review

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The documentation for the diverters is not good! So, originally I bought the shower trim, T27T897-SS (in stainless). It arrived with a "3 function diverter." I thought this was what I needed to control 3 separate nozzles in my shower (rain, normal shower head, and waterfall). After installing the trim and diverter, I noticed that the "3 function diverter" that arrived with the trim kit was not what I needed, as each function shared the #2 port. So after some research, I determined that I needed a 3 function diverter port, with NON-SHARED outputs. I ordered RP71718 per the parts diagram included with the trim kit. Cost was not cheap, like $100 + shipping for the diverter cartridge. The replacement diverter arrived yesterday and did the same thing as the one that came with the original trim. So, I called customer service and waited about 40 minutes for an agent (I was 15th in line). He proceeded to tell me that there was no such part as a 3 function non-shared cartridge, and that I needed a 6 function diverter (RP51919), and if I wanted everything to look right, I would need to buy the matching 6 position escutcheon trim as well, over $100 for the trim piece alone and the cost of yet another diverter, when the instruction manual states that I bought the proper part for what I intend to do here.. So I paid almost $800 for the trim and an extra $100 for the additional cartridge, and still have a shower that no matter what position you choose, water comes out of all 3 heads at the same time. Now Delta wants over $200 more for more parts to get this working like it should have from the start. How about making a proper 3 position, 3 function, non-shared diverter cartridge that actually works if you are going to charge $100 for it?? I am very frustrated and half termpted to put a different manufacturer in now, but I already installed and upgraded to the R22000 multichoice valve system, which I am pretty sure is compatible to Delta only. I have had great reliability with Delta and their customer service and warranty coverage has always been top notch, but I am starting to question that they are the same company anymore.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Makes no sense I should not have had to purchase this because a cartridge came in the set I bought. It was a three function knob, but they put a 6 function cartridge in the package. After installation the plumber and I discovered this problem, so I had to track down another cartridge for 3 functions. Why is a 6 function cartridge in a 3 function trim package? Ridiculous.

So bought this cartridge from amazon and it came in a delta box but says fluhs 72122 on the part is this right? Also using the r2200 rough in with this part and the Delta T24867 trim. Will i be able to plumb tub spout, hand shower and rain to operate se

Asked by: Jobu
Hello Jobu, Thank you for your question. The Delta Angular Modern 14 Series T24867 Trim kit comes with the 3-Setting Shared Diverter Cartridge assembly RP51918. The RP71718 is a 3-Setting Non-Shared Diverter cartridge assembly, that can be purchased separately, if you are connecting showering items to all three ports of the diverter valve. The MultiChoice Rough-In R22000 valve is not designed to be used with a tub spout. However, you may connect a non-diverter tub spout to one of the diverter ports as a temperature tester. Since the flow rate from the spout would be lower than a standard installation, we do not recommended to use it as a tub filler. Best regards, Tanya

Can a RP71718 diverter cartridge run the shower head and hand held shower head at the same time or a RP51919 diverter cartridge

Asked by: Billy36
Hi, Billy36! Thank you for your question. We recommend to use a Delta 3 Setting Diverter-RP51918. This will give a shared setting for both and two separate settings. The Delta 3 Setting Non-Shared Diverter-RP71718 is used if you have 3 components of water. For example a raincan shower head, hand shower, and regular shower head. You will have a separate setting for each, but no shared setting. The Delta 6 Setting shared Diverter-RP51919 is used with 3 components of water, as well, but you will have three separate settings and three shared settings. Best Regards, Rosanna

So, this unit will ONLY allow 3 SEPARATE functions, ie shower, rain shower, arm shower? Combinations of any 2 are restricted?

Live in California, if I have combination options, then I will have to live with further restrictions on water flow. Only 2gpm are allowed. So if combinations of any 2 are available, then TOTAL of any 2 is still 2gpm. That is the reason I want to ensure that this non-share cartridge only allows 1 function at a time. Otherwise, I will need to use multiple valves.
Asked by: RJs
Hi RJs, Thank you for your question! This cartridge allows flow to only one port at a time. It does not have shared settings. Best regards, Jon

I need the T11859 3-way diverter to send water separately to the tub spout, the shower head, and the handheld – never shared. Which cartridge and setup do I need? Should it be RP71717, RP71718, RP51919 – or can included RP51918 do this? Using R11000.

Asked by: Cmorgan
Hi, Cmorgan! Thank you for your question. The Delta RP71718 3 setting non-shared diverter cartridge is the cartridge we recommend to use for three shower components. Best Regards, Rosanna

I have both 3 & 6-setting (RP71718, RP51919) diverter cartridges. I mixed up the 2 parts, don't know which is which. Mfg part # etched on each: "Fluhs 72122 190103" & "Fluhs 60563 181019" Can someone confirm? rather not go thru test & swap guessing game

Asked by: natesc0tt
Thank you for your review, natesc0tt! The numbers on these cartridges can change however a reliable way to tell the difference is the 3-setting cartridge will have a white colored base whereas the 6-setting cartridge will have a gray bottom. Best regards, Edward

I have the r11000 valve, with shower head above and handheld on the right. i plugged the left port. I have the 3 function 2 port trim kit. What are my options to get the flow to the right? RP71718, RP51919, or is there something else?

Asked by: yesman
Thank you for your question, Yesman! To use a 3 setting trim, the left port would need to be used for your hand shower and the right port must be plugged. You can either replumb this in your wall or a quicker fix would be to purchase the 6 setting cartridge, RP51919. It will give you 3 blank settings but you'll have 3 settings that will work, single setting for hand shower, single setting for shower head and a shared setting for both. Best regards, Tanya
