RESEÑAS
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Diverter problems Discovered this diverter is only 2 way non shared flow that cannot be adjusted to the right side flow. Be warned plumbers and make sure to read this before doing you’re next bathroom remodel. Made major issues after putting on the shower stall due to specifications are not as advertised! You need to discontinue and recall this particular diverter ASAP

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Simply need a 3 function, non-shared system Why can't I find a 3 function, non-shared shower system with Delta? Shower head, handheld and tub spout (non-diverter type). With the myriad of parts and the high cost, this does not seem to exist with Delta. To learn this, there are also hours of research and calls to customer support. If I'm wrong, I will update this review

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The documentation for the diverters is not good! So, originally I bought the shower trim, T27T897-SS (in stainless). It arrived with a "3 function diverter." I thought this was what I needed to control 3 separate nozzles in my shower (rain, normal shower head, and waterfall). After installing the trim and diverter, I noticed that the "3 function diverter" that arrived with the trim kit was not what I needed, as each function shared the #2 port. So after some research, I determined that I needed a 3 function diverter port, with NON-SHARED outputs. I ordered RP71718 per the parts diagram included with the trim kit. Cost was not cheap, like $100 + shipping for the diverter cartridge. The replacement diverter arrived yesterday and did the same thing as the one that came with the original trim. So, I called customer service and waited about 40 minutes for an agent (I was 15th in line). He proceeded to tell me that there was no such part as a 3 function non-shared cartridge, and that I needed a 6 function diverter (RP51919), and if I wanted everything to look right, I would need to buy the matching 6 position escutcheon trim as well, over $100 for the trim piece alone and the cost of yet another diverter, when the instruction manual states that I bought the proper part for what I intend to do here.. So I paid almost $800 for the trim and an extra $100 for the additional cartridge, and still have a shower that no matter what position you choose, water comes out of all 3 heads at the same time. Now Delta wants over $200 more for more parts to get this working like it should have from the start. How about making a proper 3 position, 3 function, non-shared diverter cartridge that actually works if you are going to charge $100 for it?? I am very frustrated and half termpted to put a different manufacturer in now, but I already installed and upgraded to the R22000 multichoice valve system, which I am pretty sure is compatible to Delta only. I have had great reliability with Delta and their customer service and warranty coverage has always been top notch, but I am starting to question that they are the same company anymore.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Makes no sense I should not have had to purchase this because a cartridge came in the set I bought. It was a three function knob, but they put a 6 function cartridge in the package. After installation the plumber and I discovered this problem, so I had to track down another cartridge for 3 functions. Why is a 6 function cartridge in a 3 function trim package? Ridiculous.

I put the R11000 in my rough plumbing, but I noticed the shower water does not have off indicator. The shower heads works or the hand held shower works but I cannot seem to turn the water of. Why ?

Asked by: Waterboy
Thank you for your question, Waterboy! An R11000 diverting valve is not capable of shutting off the water as this is done with a "mixing" valve like the R10000-UNBX which is not only responsible for mixing the hot and cold water appropriately but also for shutting off the water completely when not in use. The diverter valve is then intended to connect to the top port of this Multichoice valve allowing you to direct the flow of water. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/R10000-UNBX Best regards, Edward

I have 3 appliances on a diverter, I want each one to function separately. Will a 3 function nonshared cartriage work?

Asked by: Patrick the plumber
Thank you for your question, Patrick the plumber! In order for all three components to function independently, the Delta 3 Setting Non-Shared Diverter-RP71718 is advised, however there will not be a shared function on these products. For shared functions as well, you will need to use a six-function diverter cartridge RP51919 which will allow the use of each separately as well as three shared settings. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP51919 Best regards, Edward

RP71718 or RP51919?

I have a R18222XO that I want to control a shower head and jets on a T18230. I will cap the extra aux outlet on the rough-in. I would like to use the jets alone, the shower head alone, or use them both simultaneously. Does the RP51919 have extra features that I will not use? Will the RP1718 let me do this at a lower cost compared to the RP51919? What does it mean when the RP1718 is 3-function but not shared? Cheers
Asked by: Burt
Hi Burt, Thank you for your question! The RP51919 would have additional non-working functions if you are not using the extra outlet. The RP71718 would also have a non-working function and would not allow you to run the jets and shower head together. You will need the RP51918 3-setting diverter cartridge. If you have the T18230 instead of the T18230-XO trim, you will also need the RP51920 sleeve. http://www.deltafaucet.com/repairparts/details/rp51918.html http://www.deltafaucet.com/repairparts/details/rp51920.html Best regards, Jon

can you use the rp71718 3 function non shared cartridge with a 3 function trim kit

Asked by: deave
Hi deave, Thank you for your question. The 3-Setting Non-Shared Diverter Cartridge is designed to work with a 6-Setting Diverter Trim. However, you may use it with a 3-Setting Trim, but the handle will not align with the marks on the escutcheon plate in all three settings. Best regards, Jon

Does the RP 71718 or any divertor cartridge restrict the water flow from the valve to the shower head, rain head, etc? I am planning to install a high flow valve to maximize the amount of water that goes to the shower and rain heads.

Asked by: Irish Don
Thank you for your question, Irish Don! Any restriction from a diverter trim would be minimal depending on the trim kit used and PSI to the home. For example, an R10000-UNBX rough in valve is capable of producing 6.3 gpm at 60psi whereas the high flow version, R10000-HF will produce approximately 7.3gpm. Adding an R11000 diverting valve will lower this to 5.3 gpm or 6.3 gpm respectively. For the maximum 10.7 gpm, a 17T series is recommended with a high flow rough-in valve giving you about 9.7gpm. https://www.deltafaucet.com/design-innovation/innovations/shower/tempassure-valve--monitor-valve Best regards, Edward

Can I replace an RP51918 with the Non Shared Diverter Cartridge

I have the RP51918 with the Dryden Diverter. I plumbed it to the right and now I get no flow from the setting. Can I replace with an RP71718? Or do I need something different?
Asked by: Kathy
Hi Kathy, Thank you for your question. Since the diverter is plumbed from the right you will want to install the RP51919 6 function diverter cartridge. There will be some duplicate settings, and some blank, but you will have access to all of the functions the 3 function cartridge would give you. Thanks, dave

I'm planning a shower with standard shower head, rain can, and shower arm. I'll be using the Trinsic T24859 with the R2200-ws rough in. In order to get a true three-way (no sharing), which non-shared diverter should I use? Thanks

Asked by: ScottG
Hello ScottG, Thank you for your question! I will be happy to assist. T27859 comes with a 3 setting 2-port cartridge. If you are using all ports of the diverter, the 3 function NON-shared diverter is RP71718. This information is also included with the Parts diagram for the trim. My hand held shower leaks in the off position. (Straight up) . Is this cartridge the issue?

Asked by: Nc toolman
Thank you for your question, Nc toolman. I am sorry to hear your hand shower is leaking. RP71718 is a diverter cartridge that would switch between three shower functions and is not used to turn off water. That would be done by the mixing valve. Please contact us directly and we would be happy to help with your issue. Best regards, Bryan

I'm looking to run a tub spout and shower head only. I have a Delta Trinsic T17059 assembly for the shower and considering a R1100 valve to control.  I'm considering a T11859 3 function diverter between the tub and shower. Would a RP71718 work?

Asked by: JamesBL
Hi JamesBL, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. Here is what we can do to resolve your issue for you. Our Delta Faucet Cartridge Assembly - 3-Setting Diverter - Non-Shared MODEL#: RP71718 is not recommended for a tub spout installation, due to the limited flow rate. If you currently have an R10000-UNBX and T17059 installed, we would advise plumbing the tub spout from the bottom port and a shower head from the top port. This will allow for a full flow of 8-10 GPM for the tub spout, please see the maintenance and installation instructions for the R10000-UNBX below. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/50353%20Rev%20L.pdf Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. Can I use this in the MultiChoice MODEL#: R22000 to switch independently between a tub spout, shower head, and hand wand. Will it provide enough water pressure to fill the tub in a reasonable time

Asked by: steady
Hello Steady, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP71718 Cartridge Assembly - 3-Setting Diverter - Non-Shared. I apologize for any difficulty finding this information. I know that can be frustrating. We are happy to help! No, we would not recommend using a tub spout with this diverter cartridge and an R22000. The flow rate would be too reduced for a tub filler. This is a cartridge for using three different shower features, without any shared settings. The bottom outlet of the R10000 MultiChoice valve rough, with a tub and shower trim, would be recommended for a tub spout. The R22000 valve does not include a tub outlet. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/R10000-UN.html Please reach out at customerservice@deltafaucet.com or 1-800-345-DELTA if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Asked by: Score27
Hi Score27, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP71718. This cartridge does not include shared settings. The cartridge RP51918 would be used for two individual settings and one shared setting. In our new Delta Trinsic 2 component shower system Our contractor mixed up the pipes. Our shower head works in shower head position and mixed position, shower handle doesn’t work at all. Can I switch RP71717 cartridge to RP71718 to help the situation?

Asked by: Irina
Hi Irina, Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help! Yes, changing the cartridge will help if the wrong diverter port was plugged. RP71717 can be replaced with RP71718 for non-shared systems without mixed diverter positions. But if you would like to have mixed positions, it would be replacing RP51918 with RP51919. RP71718 or RP51919 is what you would need. They are typically for setups with three shower features, so it will work for your two features, but there will be dead spots on the dial. Asked by: Rccc
Hi Rccc, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. Here is what we can do to resolve your issue for you. Our Delta Faucet Cartridge Assembly - 3-Setting Diverter - Non-Shared MODEL#: RP71718 would work properly to allow 3 items to be used individually, however we do not recommend installing the tub spout from the diverter as it would produce a lesser amount of flow. The tub spout would only produce half flow if plumbed from the diverter, if plumbed from the bottom port of the main rough valve it would produce 8-10 GPM. The RP71717 would allow for two items to be used individually, I have included a link below. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts/product/RP71717.html Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. Hi Phil, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP71718 Cartridge Assembly - 3-Setting Diverter - Non-Shared. We will be happy to assist you as quickly as possible. A two-port, three-function diverter would include the cartridge RP51918. To use the three-function diverter, the port on the right side will need to be capped. If the top port of the diverter valve was capped, a 6-setting diverter cartridge RP51919 or the 3-setting, non-shared cartridge RP71718 can be used. Asked by: Joseph
Hi Joseph, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing with your Delta Cartridge Assembly - 3-Setting Diverter - Non-Shared MODEL#: RP71718. Here is what we can do to resolve your issue for you. Low flow is caused by a blockage or debris, and we would recommend flushing. The rough end is not recommended to be installed upside down as it could cause issues with the operation, please start by verifying that the word "UP" is on the top of the valve. I have included some flushing instructions below: Start by turning the hot and cold water off. 1) Remove the handle to the diverter. 2) After removing the handle, remove the trim sleeve. 3) After removing the sleeve, you will need to pull the cartridge straight out. Once the cartridge is removed, you will have an open valve body. 4) Next, shut the shower door or curtain and turn the water on to the valve. Water should gush out, much like an open fire hydrant. Have someone observe if there is good water pressure coming out of the valve and let it flush for 30 seconds. 5) Re-install the cartridge and re-assemble in reverse of how it was disassembled. Check the full handle rotation. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you.
