When replacing the extender in the transfer valve, must it fit tightly? And why is the extender in two parts?

Thank you for your question, Mike! The transfer valve had a diverter and an extender that will fit on top. The Sleeve and nut should keep this firmly in place but it should not be over-tightened. 1/4-full turn past hand tight should suffice. Best regards, Edward

if this becomes blocked up is it replaced free,since it has a lifetime warranty MODEL #RP14979,I need this soon please respond.

I have a Kohler K-409-K-NA transfer valve that has failed. The dimensions of the space are one and 3/4 inches in diameter, and three and 1/2 inches in depth. What are the dimensions of this valve? Will it fit?

Can I change the transfer/diverter handle to a different delta collection handle, matching the roman tub filler spout and handles? I would like the all the handles to match. Would the Windemere collect handle work with this diverter?
